The only other "Rise" thread I could find had been archived, so I made this one. Anyway, let me give a warning here. This trailer gives pretty much the entire story away. This feels like a 3 minute condensed version of the film. So if you're interested but don't want to know to much...don't click the link and you should probably flee this thread now. I still can't buy Scientist James Franco. {Spoiler}And the world is conquered by Apes because Jonathan Lithgow gets Alzheimers.

This just looks so incredibly stupid. I could by the original movies because man had wiped itself out and regressed to being a dumb savage creature while the apes naturally evolved into more intelligent beings...but this is just goofy.
Why the hell would the scientists even put Caeser with the other apes and allow him to be treated that way? I can understand them showing him other apes, but not locking him up with them like that. I figure...show him the normal chimps...he becomes all whimsical and curious maybe even feeling sorry for his "repressed" relatives...they throw poo at him...he figures "f*** 'em." and goes on to live a normal human life but as an evolved chimp...the end.

Let's also point out that the apes learn to hate because of Draco Malfoy.

I saw a trailer recently, everyone in the cinema couldn't stop laughing, at the concept, the visuals.
This is gonna bomb HARD.

This movie's existence baffles me. It's a prequel to a series that doesn't have any public interest these days, and it's not like it remotely contributes to the story of either movie.

Honestly, up until the apes' revolt, I thought this looked pretty good. If they had just stuck with "smart monkey tries to deal with being put in his habitat with dumb monkeys", I think it could've told a good story.

It looks horrible and unbelievable. So a smart monkey then makes all of the other monkeys and gorillas smart so they can overthrow the people of the world? You'd have to have millions of primates to do this and I'm sorry I don't think it's even remotely possible.

Up until the point where it turned Avatar and they were fighting the humans en masse with spears, it looked pretty good. When that happened, it sucked me out of it immediately.

You'd have to have millions of primates to do this and I'm sorry I don't think it's even remotely possible. I see the charge on the bridge and think (and perhaps I'm wrong), "Well, then. That's really seems like a good case of bottle-necking that any military force could take advantage of. At this point they obviously know who they're dealing with so...?" Seriously. They're on a bridge. There are two exits (unless they want to take a long fall into the water and risk drowning) and they don't have weapons besides anger and smooth hair. ...I'm overthinking this.
