I loved the film. I have absolutely no interest in comics or graphic novels, so with any of these films I don't have any baggage when watching them. I didn't know it was based on the comic until I saw it. All I know was it had the crazy Russian director of Nightwatch and Daywatch, and I had to see it for that reason alone.

How stupid was the "curve the bullet" scene ? I mean really ? The stuff where she's hanging out of cars and firing away and cars flipping over and leading upright, it all just gives you a bad headache. It looked it like it was made for 15 year old boys who are too naive to know that is sucks becaue they dont know any better. I dont mind Angelina but she looked very anorexic in this movie as well.

I know it's an action movie, but I couldn't get into it. {Spoiler}Why wouldn't they just use the power that comes with having the FREAKISHLY powerful card of having a vat that can heal someone from any matter of disease? Sure, killing a person of importance could set their plans in motion, but it just seems limited by comparison.

I remember liking it in theaters, then renting it on dvd a few months later and just not being even able to finish it.

The only other comic that I've read from Mark Millar is "Kick-Ass" and I actually thought that one was good. Movie was better. Yes, the movie was better, but I was just making a comment on the comic version.

This is the movie where Angelina Jolie stopped being even remotely attractive. Couldn't stand the main dude, either. Angelina has never been attractive to me.

Angelina has never been attractive to me. She was to me in Girl Interrupted, but Winona Ryder was cuter in that, and possibly Brittany Murphy as well.

I dunno, Angelina is certainly good looking, but there really is something "off" about her, like she's really from another world or something. In any case she shouldn't have been in this movie.

Why is it that bullet physics are the thing that people always give it trouble for? Sure it was dumb as hell, but more or less normal for cheesy action flicks. Meanwhile, a Weaving Machine of Doom that kills people by speaking binary to weavers in the Middle Ages who also somehow speak binary is fine?

One of my favorite movies by one of my favorite directors.
Read the graphic novel, thought it sucked. Movie was much better in my opinion.

The movie went into serious overkill with the effect where, during an action scene everything slows down, the camera zooms in, and the object goes "whooosh!". (Know the effect I mean?) Jesus, they must have used that about forty times in that movie.

Was this written by a 14 year old?

The whole ending to the book at least was a tongue in cheek F you to the readers that a lot of people actually took seriously; it, like the rest of the book was so over top it went ridiculous.

Yeah I was more than disappointed with this movie. The trailer looked cool but as I was watching it I was just turned off by it all. Just a lame movie overall.

They could have called the movie anything else, and it really wouldn't have changed much, so they probably should have just left the Wanted license alone. I doubt it sold any extra tickets for them.

Outside of getting the character names right, and the beginning of Wesley being kinda an ineffectual nebbish who actually has superskills, it had NOTHING to do with the book.
Eh, I take that back, there were a few scenes here or there lifted from it; him shooting the wings off the flies for example; but major plot etc, nada. I don't think I've ever seen something deviate from the source material quite that much. Which didn't bug me, as the source material was kinda shitty anyway.
And right, I can't imagine it being peripherally attached to the book sold that many more tickets.

My GF bought this and made me watch it. Lot of things about it didn't sit well with me. There was no positive message. Basically you had a guy getting beat to crap has part of his training so that he too can be a killer. He never seemed to question the morality of being an assassin until he was told to kill someone. It's difficult for me to imagine that a person would care to avenge his father by killing his murderer when he had never even met the man instead of just turning around and killing his trainers. Then you had all these people being killed in cars and that train just to kill one person who supposedly is bad because some fabric says so? He was an idiot for going along with it in the first place. It's just a name. Maybe I missed something but I don't think the fabric said they the people had to be killed. Just their name. Then the whole thing ends with a whole "Hey f*** you for not being a murderer like me." I will say Morgan Freeman cussing and the goofy look on his face when he gets killed was funny though.

You REALLY wouldn't have liked the book then where he literally rapes and kills with reckless abandon and there's even less of an effect on him as he's a straight up villain. So I guess that's one more thing they did sorta translate to the film.

There's one truth in this life: James McAvoy automatically makes something awesome.
