TMZ put up a video from the taping of a Legend's House segment. "You can't teach old wrestlers new tricks -- and several WWE icons proved it last week, during a hilariously left-footed Zumba class ... and TMZ has obtained the clumsy footage. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan ... along with WWE legends like Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Hilbilly Jim, Pat Patterson, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, Howard Finkel, and Tony Atlas all hit the dance studio in Palm Springs ... and shocker, we're told it's for an upcoming reality show. Sources tell us the show still doesn't have a home ... but we're told the WWE is hoping to run it on its upcoming network." www.tmz.com/2012/02/28/wwe-legends-house-zumba-dance-class-video/

That is part of why they pushed it back. That said, WWE will have no problem getting it on some companies, Comcast being the easiest. I also don't see them having trouble with DISH though the bad blood between them and Direct my hurt them there.

The ratings for that show may suck, but I'll be entertained as all hell by it.

Wasn't it meant to start up around this time of the year originally? The fact they STILL have got no-one to carry the channel flat out sucks, its been in the works for a while now and should have generated some interest.

It took Longhorn Network till the Zero hour to get a single carrier, and still does not have much yet due to still working things out. WWE has a much wider audience, and while they still do not have a carrier yet, we are not near being scared land yet.

An update of sorts: WWE NETWORK UPDATE by Dave Scherer @ 9:05 PM on 3/28/2012
The Danbury News Times has a story updating the status of The WWE Network. They quote WWE Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Wilson as saying, "There will be a WWE network in some shape or form. We are in late-stage negotiations with distributors. Getting a distribution agreement for a cable network is not easy."
She disputed the New York Post report from a few weeks back, which painted a more distressing picture of the network, but also declined to say when the new network would air. She said there was never an internal launch date and wouldn't say if there was one now. I guess she missed all of the 12-18 months estimates other WWE execs have been making for far more than 18 months now.
She also said that they have filled 30 jobs specifically for the network with people from other cable and TV distribution backgrounds. She thinks there will eventually be 120 WWE Network employees.

If there was never an 'internal launch date' then why were all the WWE Network promos set for a 2012 date?

If WWE has trouble with cable and satellite providers, maybe they should look at distributing their network through video game consoles and Internet TV. I mean, why the hell not?

Don't see Internet TV as helping the WWE out that much. Wrestling is already a niche form of entertainment, and I think internet TV in general is an even bigger niche with even fewer followers. There's a reason why Zack Ryder started ZTLIS (although it too is a webshow). There's a reason we cry foul when our faves are on NXT or Superstars.

There's plenty of studies that say online video watching will outpace general cable shortly. And the reason why people cry foul about NXT or Superstars is that there's a stigma associated with those shows, i don't care if they air them on Fox or on YouTube.

Maybe the WWE's thinking is that the WWE Network can go the same way of the "Mystery General Manager" storyline, in that if they just outright stop talking about it, perhaps people will forget about it in the first place.

Oprah has come out, admitted creating a network is her biggest mistake and that she wishes she had never done it. I know Vince hears that laughs because he feels he's bigger than Oprah but I wonder what the people under him think hearing that.

I know Vince hears that laughs because he feels he's bigger than Oprah but I wonder what the people under him think hearing that. Well in all fairness, I feel as if Vince has more of a reason to start his own network than Oprah. Like he has so many hours of footage and a lot of potential programming to create. Oprah had her show and some books.
