www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/news/local/neighbors-note-sets-off-nights-of-protest-20110803CRANSTON, R.I. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston) - A nasty note in a neighborhood dispute has lead to nights of protest in front of the Cranston, R.I. houses after one neighbor told the other he was happy he had cancer. Bob gold is 55 years old, and after a two-year fight, he appears to have beaten cancer. Now Gold is fighting another battle - this one, believe it or not, hits just as close to home. "It caught my attention and I had to go back several times to go back and make sure I’m seeing what I thought I saw," Gold said. Scrawled on a note, hung on his neighbor’s home facing Gold's house, was a message that read "Glad you have cancer, so die stupid." Gold said the note was unprompted but that he and others have had problems with his neighbor before. Police told Gold that his neighbor, Edward Jimmis, wasn't breaking any laws. Neighbors were showing their disgust with signs on Wednesday for the second night in a row. Jan Lamond says she's been harassed by Jimmis before, and she also lost her husband to cancer two years ago. Jimmis has since changed his sign. Now the note within the wreath reads "Love your neighbor." Read more: www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/news/local/neighbors-note-sets-off-nights-of-protest-20110803#ixzz1U1f6qgWD

You hear about these kinds of people sometimes. It's just so frustrating.

He has the right to say what he wants, regardless of how stupid it is.

The poor punctuation in the, "So die stupid," part makes it funny, given how that comes out sounding without a comma in there.

He has the right to say what he wants, regardless of how stupid it is. Not necessarily. He can say that but he couldn't say certain other things, like saying the guy has cancer when he doesn't.

One of my best friends, his dad had this boss that was just insufferable. Always angry at something, never really had a good word to say about anybody (including his poor wife), and just...well...not the kinda person you would want to be trapped in an elevator with.
So..of course being this angry all the time caused health problems, and he had a heart attack at the age of 56. When my friend's dad heard about this he seriously debated sending a "Congratulations" Hallmark card.
