EDIT: Decided to change the subject/thread name to include all VG movies even if it's a topic covered by many. Still fun to talk about them. Also, Mortal Kombat was the best.
So...the rest of this was the original post:
So, after being out and floating around for about a year, Tekken finally received a Direct to DVD release in US. So, I guess I just wanted to get people's opinions on it.
I felt they could've used more characters from the earlier games (They had Miquel Rojo in this and he didn't even show up until Tekken 6 if I recall correctly).
I gave my opinion on it for my Disturbingly Cheap Reviews.
But to summarize if you don't want to see silly drawings and hear my ever wonderful voice...I didn't really like it.
It's so disappointing that they spent $35 million on a movie that even the makers of the games have essentially disowned. So much potential for a bunch of meh.
And it needed a fighting bear, daggone it.

I havent seen it nor have I seen the Dead or Alive, King of Fighters, and Street Fighter Chun Li movies. I want to see them all but they just arent high on my must see viewing list for obvious reasons.

I've watched them. And if you don't mind me giving opinions:
DOA is mindless and not very well done for the most part but does have quirky humor that almost works at time. Kevin Nash is amusing for the amount of screen time he gets.
King of Fighters was...uh...a movie. Really wasted having Ray Wise. I reviewed it a while back on my YouTube account.
Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li. Hilarious in the 'not so good' way. I did enjoy the way the script works to pound you over the head that Irish Bison is pure evil. Also, Chris Klein says you just inherited a big problem.

Dude. Tekken is one of the worst movies that I have seen in the last five years.
So much disrespect to canon and the script writers would prefer to have people like Miguel or Dragunov instead of characters that are actually popular like Paul Phoenix. Yoshimitsu is an insane murderer (No... just no), Bryan Fury has the wrong motivations (he would never get blackmailed over illegal modifications to his body) and the only character that resembles himself is in for only five minutes.
Plus the whole having the initial love interest be an Original Character, Kazuya being the only member of his family that isn't asian and the whole Mishima family not being at one anothers throats until the last 45 minutes makes things stupid.

Compared to Tekken, Legend of Chun-Li, and King of Fighters, DoA is downright tolerable, plus it's got its own entertaining attributes of so bad it's good.

I actually did enjoy DOA, even though I can admit how cheesy it was. I still sometimes laugh about Jaime Pressly in that fight scene, but I still liked it.
I think the best one will probably always be Mortal Kombat, the first one I mean. That was actually decent.
I heard that Hitman is only decent if you watch it as any other action flick, not a movie directly based on Hitman, because the 47 in the movie and the 47 in the games seem different from each other.

The Legend of Chun-Li was an abomination. I caught it on FX a few weeks ago after it had already started. Watching the movie, I was wondering if M. Bison was going to make an appearance. I was utterly SHOCKED when I realized that he already had. I then proceeded to get violently angry at the rest of the movie. They hyped up Vega like he was worth a damn and he lost badly in 2 minutes. Balrog can't even spell bazooka and he sure as hell would never use one. Them throwing in Rose just made me ill. A story with Rose should not be wasted on this piece of shit movie.
The movie didn't even deserve the $12 million it made...total. It was a bomb of epic proportions and it deserved it.

I was utterly SHOCKED when I realized that he already had. Indeed. The guy playing Bison is a decent actor, but definitely not who pops to mind when Bison is mentioned. And completely missed the point of the character by having Chun-Li comment on him being ugly. "No wonder you hide your face." No...I...No. Agreed. Agreed...Agreed. Also, I enjoyed the ending when Chun-Li receives and invitation to the "Street Fighter" tournament and casually remarks, "I thought Bison was dead." {Spoiler}Oh really? That guy whose head you made DO A 180 DEGREE TURN? You thought he was dead?!" Such a bad attempt to tie-in to the actual game.

Speaking of VG adaptations...Resident Evil. Only one question comes to mind in regards to that movie franchise: "What the f*** was that!?" Honestly, out side of "Resident Evil: Apocalypse," I refuse to acknowledge the others as Resident Evil movies, and even 2 is stretching it.
Jill Valentine wasn't even the star of the bloody movie she was actually in! For some reason, they butchered the story to squeeze in Milla Jovovich in an original role. Wesker, THE villain of the franchise, doesn't even show up until movies 3 & 4. Chris, one of the main protagonists, doesn't appear until the 4th freakin' movie! Leon hasn't even been discussed aside from a newspaper clip during the credits of Apocalypse. As regular movies, the quality ain't that bad. As Resident Evil movies, they suck!
To top it all off, there will apparently be a 5th Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Retribution. I can barely contain myself...

I've come to accept the Resident Evil franchise is Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovoich ego #*$@ to themselves and their attempt to stay relevant to Hollywood.

The Foywonder put up a review yesterday of both Tekken movies (apparently there's also an animated one). They both sound awful, but no surprise.
Reminds me of when I looked up the Animal Crossing one. Sounds stupid, but it's actually pretty good.

Hmm.
It's been over 10 years.
I think it's time for a Super Mario Bros. movie franchise reboot.
...then again I'm the guy who had a dream where Danny DeVito and Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) played Wario and Waluigi in a sequel to the first Super Mario Bros. movie.

Seriously though, for anyone who reads this thread and has seen Tekken, what the heck was up with that tournament?!

Seriously though, for anyone who reads this thread and has seen Tekken, what the heck was up with that tournament?! I honestly don't know. The only real corporation from Tekken was the Mishima Zaibatsu (you know, not Tekken) who sponsors the tournament. I think it's more that Heihachi likes to kick the ass of people who dare challenge him in a fight and so why not.

The Tekken movie wasn't as much of an abomination as people make it out to be. It had its inaccuracies, but it was more accurate than the majority of the video game movies out there. Plus a lot of the fights were entertaining. (though some were rather disappointing.)
