Besides which some might view Rock coming back to verbally embarrass a young, lazy, unpopular superstar being pushed to the stars despite the obvious contemptment from a sizeable section of the fans as being just a tad hypocritical. I was just saying I'd like to see it, odds are we won't as Vince is pushing this guy Cena down our throats week in and week out, so it won't happen. I thought Rock was better in the ring than Cena was,IMO. It only goes down our throats when we open our mouths for it.

I have taken exception of how during recent times Rock has seemed to deliebrately ignore the WWE fanbase and the WWE because I think it's almost disrespectful. If he wants to be associated with the product then good and if he doesn't then fine. But it seems to me that when it suits him he'll be movie-star/wrestler and when he doesn't he'll just be Rock the movie star. Rumor has it that just like Maria Carey demands 147 white roses as a TV appearance stipulation that Rock specifically asks not to be asked about wrestling. I remember the big 3 hour Raw they did to mark it's return to USA Network and Rock thought it was much more important to be introducing a couple of teams in a football match than turning up just to smile and wave at the fans who got him to where he is today. It's not that I dislike Rock but I do think sometimes he would do well to remember where exactly he came from and indeed where a sizeable portion of his current box-office come from. OK........ So to "remember where he came from," should he sacrifice the present and future? I don't recall anyone mentioning that he should "sacrifice the present and the future". What I am saying though is that like everyone else he should remember that if it wasn't for wrestling and the wrestling fanbase he has he probably would never even be offered movie roles. Producers don't give him work because of his talent. They give him work because he came with a ready made audience. If he took the route of ordinary actors in Hollywood and audition and work his way up throuh local ads, national commercials, crappy cable shows etc then there is no way Rock would even be considered. He got parachuted into his role because he was a reasonably well-known TV star as a wrestler. Nobody is suggesting that he should always kiss WWE's ass but as pointing out before, WWE fans are his first port of call when advertising his lastest flick because the film producers know that we are the main audience that he is put in the film to attract. Indeed if Rock announced once and for all that he was never going to appear on any wrestling show again then I would very much doubt if he would be employed in a big role again simply because with us (the general wrestling audience of 18-30 year old men with disposable income) that he specifically appeals to there would be no reason for anyone in Hollywood to hire him. But desipite all that the man doesnt even agree to turn up and cut a God-damn promo for the major show of the year! I don't know anyone can interpret that as being anything other than very disrespectful to the wrestling audience. So he won't even turn up once a year as a nice treat for the live and TV audiences but when he wants us to depart with our money he suddenly becomes a wrestler again and appears on WWE.com interviews and teases the old "never say never" about his return but he isn't really fooling anyone. If he wants not to be a wrestler anymore then fine, don't be. I'm not really concerned either way but for God sakes if he doesn't want to be associated with us anymore and would rather turn up to an opening of an envelope than an episode of Raw then he should stop using WWE and wrestling as a way to shill his future ventures to us. He chose to prepensely divorce himself from wrestling altogether which is why I have no time for him when he's suddenly interested in us again wen it comes to try and sell us his latest project.

I think people should get a chance to do something new, specifically if he is doing something different. True he sold "secure his base," to keep his movies rolling, but at a certain point, he has a new base group: movie fans. Wrestling fans are now a portion of hiss fans in general. I don't think he's ignoring us, just including everyone whether they watch wrestling or not. As you may be awae, wrestling is not as popular now as it was when Rock was on top, so if he starts talking about Cena and Orton, everyone who doesn't belong to a forum or newsgroup will be scatching their heads. This leaves 3 questions of doom he must be asked at every interview not related to the current "underground" product:
1. Will you ever go back to wrestling? 2. What was you favorite match? 3. How did you make the transition from wrestling to Hollywood?
So if after 6 odd years of regularly acting in blockbusters he wants to leave these questions out, which he happily answered for the first 3 or 4 years, that's fine by me. I know the answers already.
