So if everything gets settled on Monday as planned, Rachel Nichols will be on the first plane to Mississippi for the annual "Favre Watch". She's probably staring at her phone in dread waiting for the call from her bosses. "Good news, Rache. The lockout's over. You know what that means. Pack your bags." "Another summer in Swampass, Mississippi? NOOOOO!"

Drew Brees sent an email to teammates Sunday confirming that the CBA agreement is "expected" Monday.
Reports from other players were still trickling in Sunday that a deal was not finalized, so it's good to hear that Brees fully expects the lockout to be lifted Monday. Brees' email also says it's possible that teams may begin re-signing their own free agents on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. SI.com's Peter King sets the odds of the deal not going down Monday at "3.72 percent."

The lions are a young team, I can see some hot stuff coming from them in the next 3 years, which I hate since the NFC north is crowded enough as it is...

Alright, this was someone I mentioned a few months ago that I stopped working on, but is back doing with the season pretty much a guarantee
I was thinking about a game that we can do that was a little different from the usual fantasy football game. Something to show that we know exactly how the NFL season is going to unfold. So I decided to come up with 'NFL Season Bingo'.
The way it works is simple. There are 75 scenarios to choose from to put on a bingo card, and the goal would be to complete it by the time the season ends. What would make it interesting is that the player can choose what player or team would accomplish that feat to get the spot. For example, one scenario is '3 3 Passing TD Games'. One person can have Tom Brady accomplishing the feat while another could have Drew Brees or Peyton Manning and so forth. There are scenarios for offense, defense, special teams, team performance (like how many points they win by), and a special category with scenarios like '1 tie game' or '(player) gets suspended'.
I have about 20 scenarios to go, and I have to make a full rule sheet, but if I can get this done by the time the season starts, would anyone be interested in trying it out?

This is what I love about the forum. Just like the WCW theme to the NBA season, this is just a little fun side note to add to the season. It's our fantasy sports. I'm most definitely in.

Both FOX's Jay Glazer and the Washington Post's Mark Maske are reporting that a new labor deal is essentially done.
Barring any unexpected, unforeseen, last-second surprises, the champagne is expected to officially pop sometime this afternoon. According to Maske, teams could begin signing rookies and talking to free agents Tuesday before full free agency opens Friday at 6 p.m. ET. Training camps would begin opening Wednesday and continue through the weekend. Nothing is official until the players ratify the deal, but we're at the 1-inch line right now.

You'll be missed. In regards to the game, I'm in. I'm telling you! This team will be beastly. You have more faith than I for the Lions. I have them going 9-7, which is a great improvement, no doubt, but probably not in the playoffs. Could they make the playoffs? I'd say they have a chance. Would I bet my account on it? Definitely not. Then again, with everything the Lions have gone through, I'm hesitant about them just disappointing everybody again. As for the season bingo, count me in as well.
