This doesn't include Eastern Championship Wrestling, or the new ECW.
I went with Raven.

raven by leaps and bounds. I practically worshipped the guy. The guy was not only a good wrestler and showman, but dude lived his gimmick. I miss raven

I said Tommy Dreamer simply for one reason. He was such a pimp for the promotion. He by all acounts was the face of ECW. And I felt sorry for the guy when he finally became champ it was only for five min...

Wow, looking at that small list of champs.
Currently I'm stuck trying to decide between Sandman, Mike Awesome, and Terry Funk.

Probably Taz, but I liked all of them. Yes, even Justin and Corino.

Mike Awesome. Because that's how you book a monster champion.

I was tied between Douglas and Awesome. I went with Douglas because he helped make ECW, but Awesome was just awesome.
Raven/Taz-Didn't need the belt Dreamer-Held the belt for a cup of coffee

I voted Douglas. When I think ECW champion, he's the first one that comes to mind without any thought required. Pure word association. Just like, for example, if you asked me to name an NWA champion, the first name out of my mouth would be Flair, without thinking. Wait, is that irony, that I just did there?

The Franchise. Plus, Francine's boobs would accompany him to the ring.

Taz. That short little martha****er was a beast. Carried it well, drew money for them on PPV(not enough apparently) and he designed some of the coolest t-shirts they ever had

I voted Shane.
Raven was a great champ, but not the greatest to me in any of his reigns - none of them are really memorable reigns.
Taz didn't get the reign he should have got after his steady push, but that was his own fault.
Awesome is probably my favourite ECW alumnus but his leaving soured his reign and stops him short of greatness.
Sandman had a lot of reigns but none of them are really memorable.
Shane Douglas was the most over heel in the company almost the entire time he was champion (in any reign) and a lot of the time when he wasn't, so it has to be him. He introduced the new name with one of the greatest promos ever, had some amazing matches and managed to totally work the smarkiest smarks ever - and even some of the boys in the back. It has to be Shane.

I gotta throw salt on Justin credible. I didn't have a forum like this to gripe in 99 or 2000 when he had the belt so here it goes. As talented a mechanic as he is/was inside the ring he lacked comercial appeal and in my opinion only got the heat he got because of who he worked against. he was the default choice for champion and didn't do squat for houses, buyrates or ratings. How he got a job with WWF in 01 I still have no idea.

Raven was great as the champ, no doubt but to me, I got to give it to Douglas. As the Franchise; he reminded me of someone who would have ended up in The Horsemen *Ironic huh? * He was the brash, loud mouth heel who could def. back it up in the ring during his days in ECW

Had to go with Raven. He was the champ when ECW was arguably at its creative best, his reign took in the awesome Sandman feud, managed to pull out one last great match with the sadly broken down Terry Gordy, led the awesomeness that was the Flock, and lost the belt at ECWs first PPV in a great moment to Terry Funk.

I have to go with Mike Awesome. Perfectly booked as champion, and I still wish him and Van Dam could of had their match for both belts.
