Some messages from some of the outsider participants. Roode needs more lessons in not. pausing. in. between. sentences.

Either way glad Beer Money will be there. Still wish it was Lethal/Wolfe instead of RVD/Hardy.

Robert Roode is weak against queue cards.
Really good card though.

Jeff Hardy is still allowed to travel overseas even with that pending court case?

Tiger Mask IV is on this card? I'm glad to see him back. People online told me he was so horrible, but when I watched him I thought he was okay.

0. World Pro Wrestling Inter-Promotional Match: Wataru Inoue, Tiger Mask, Tomoaki Honma & Tama Tonga vs. Yujiro Takahashi, Tomohiro Ishii, Jado & Gedo 0. World Pro Wrestling Invitation Match: Koji Kanemoto & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Kenny Omega & Taichi They've got Kanemoto, a 20-year vet who can still go, and Kenny Omega, a current jr. tag champ who is getting over with NJ crowds, both working a dark match so that a drugged-out Jeff Hardy can make a meaningless title defense. Also, RVD is booked in a pointless match with Yano, which is sure to provide much material for a future edition of Botchamania. Anyway...1. IWGP Tag Team Title, 3 Way Match: Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson (c) vs. James Storm & Robert Roode vs. Manabu Nakanishi & Strong Man This could be fun if kept short and Beer Money & Bad Intentions are allowed to do most of the work. I think NJ has learned its lesson about giving TNA guys title reigns. Bad Intentions retains. 2. ROAD TO FANTASTICAMANIA: Jushin Thunder Liger & Héctor Garza vs. La Sombra & Máscara Dorada I'm not much of a Lucha fan, but this will give some diversity to the card, and I always enjoy Liger appearing in the dome. 3. DEEP SLEEP TO LOSE: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Takashi Iizuka 4. NJPW/TNA Greatest Showcase: Toru Yano vs. Rob Van Dam Not interested in either. Hopefully both will be kept very short. I mean, RVD/Yano on the biggest show of the year? Really? 5. NO JUSTICE, NO LIFE: Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki I'm a fan of both, so I'm looking forward to this one. I predict Suzuki will really heel things up, and Nagata will get the submission victory after a back-and-forth match. 6. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Prince Devitt (c) vs. Kota Ibushi I've enjoyed their past encounters, so this should be fun. NJ has been courting Ibushi for a while now, but he has been reluctant to leave DDT. A title win at the dome would be just the thing to finally win him over, but that obviously isn't going to happen. Devitt retains in a match filled with crazy high-spots. 7. NJPW vs. NOAH Battle Combustion I: Hirooki Goto & Kazuchika Okada vs. Takashi Sugiura & Yoshihiro Takayama This has the potential to be awesome, and it could greatly elevate Goto & Okada if done properly. I'm expecting a lot of heat as the NOAH guys abuse the poor face-in-peril Okada while Goto attempts to keep his team's chances alive. Okada takes the fall after a hard fought match. 8. TNA World Heavyweight Title: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito I could not possibly care less. Hopefully it will be kept mercifully short, as it will be completely devoid of heat. Imagine how much more interesting and productive Angle/Naito would be. What a waste. Hardy retains and doesn't remember anything about it the next day. The fans are also driven to drugs in hopes of ridding such a horrid experience from their memories. I suppose the only upside is that this match will serve as a short bathroom break for the fans after they nearly piss their pants from the awesomeness of the previous match. 9. NJPW vs. NOAH Battle Combustion II: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Go Shiozaki Nakamura lost clean to Go earlier this year in NOAH, so look for him to get revenge here. Should be very good. 10. The Absolute Exhaust: Togi Makabe vs. Masato Tanaka Not really interested in their styles, but it should be a good, stiff battle. 11. IWGP Heavyweight Title: Satoshi Kojima (c) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi[/quote] This has the potential either to be great or to fall completely flat. I expect both guys will have their working boots on, so I'd bet on the former. NJ will want to put the title back on their top face, so Tanahashi will become a 5-TIME, 5-TIME, 5-TIME, 5-TIME, 5-TIME IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION...... Overall, it's a decent card on paper with a few potentially good-to-great matches. I would have limited the TNA participation to Beer Money or possibly Angle, but that's just me. I'm interested to see what kind of an attendance the dome show will draw this year. .....SUCKAAAAAAA!!!

They really could have done better here; like bring in Angle, Joe, Styles, or even Jay Lethal. Toru Yano vs. Rob Van Dam? Jeff Hardy vs Tetsuya Naito? Why? It's totally obvious who is going to win in both matches (you really think TNA is going to put the strap on a Japanese guy they never heard of before?), not to mention there's nothing compelling about either of them. The rest looks decent, but a lot of stuff we've already seen or generally not living up to Dome standards.
btw: Naito>>>>>>>Hardy any day.

The Naito/Jeff Hardy match is all about getting Naito a high profile match. Yes he will lose it, but also means that New Japan have high hopes for him as a singles wrestler, and probably there wasn't much stuff for him to do that could be positioned as "high profile".
Oh and, aside from Beer Money, Hardy was chosen out of the wrestlers from TNA because he might be the only one right now that can draw in some more fans to the show (Joe is even more of a joke in Japan than America, AJ/Lethal/almost everyone else is unknown to most (remember that there's no TNA programing in Japan) and Angle already had his time there and lost to both Nakamura and Tanahashi, so even a win against him wouldn't mean as much in the eyes of the Japanese fans. On the other hand, Jeff may still be a fresh sight in the eyes of Japanese fans out of his last WWE (WWE programing is still one of the most viewed wrestling programs in Japan) run and Van Dam is just... well... there). Not saying they are the greatest of choices, but it could be worse. Besides, both of their matches will probably be between about 7 and 15 minutes long, respectably, at most (the Dome shows have many matches, so most of them are rather small).

I think they should have scrapped RVD/Yano and made the TNA title match a 3-way between Hardy/Naito/RVD. It has a less predictable outcome, as well as being higher profile for Naito as he would face two former WWE champions. And with RVD/Yano removed, there would be space for a Jr. tag or a special attraction match. Win, win.

TNA World Heavyweight Title: Jeff Hardy (c) beat Tetsuya Naito (11:04) with a Swanton bomb. 9. NJPW vs. NOAH Battle Combustion II: Shinsuke Nakamura beat Go Shiozaki (14:17) with the Boma Ye. 10. The Absolute Exhaust: Togi Makabe beat Masato Tanaka (12:46) with a King Kong kneedrop. 11. IWGP Heavyweight Title: Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Satoshi Kojima (c) with the High Fly Flow to become the 56th Champion (5th title reign for Tanahashi)
* 47,000 fans, if true, make this the biggest Tokyo Dome crowd for New Japan since the 1/4/04 show seven years ago. * Hiroshi Tanahashi reclaims his place as “ace of the universe” and leads New Japan into 2011 after ending the brief reign of Satoshi Kojima today. Tanahashi pinned Kojima with his High Fly Flow to begin his fifth reign as champion, much to the delight of the Tokyo Dome. * As expected, the Makabe vs. Tanaka match, like their others, was very stiff and physical, with some weapon usage and big bumps. Makabe replicated his IWGP Heavyweight Title defense victory over Tanaka from last year, pinning him following a King Kong kneedrop. * Nakamura achieved revenge on NOAH’s Go Shiozaki, kicking out of the Go Flasher then brutalizing Go with strikes en route to a Boma Ye victory. * Naito fell short of beating Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Title but such a big match on a big stage is sure to mark the beginning of a big year for the NO LIMIT man. * Young hope Kazuchika Okada returned, looking much bigger and stronger, and going toe to toe with Sugiura and Takayama, even backdropping Takayama. As expected, he eventually lost but made an impression on his return. * New Japan’s 2011 advance on the USA was announced after the sixth match. “NJPW INVASION TOUR ~ATTACK ON EAST COAST~” was formally announced with three shows: 5/13 New Jersey, 5/14 New York, and 5/15 Philadelphia. * Devitt once again held on to the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title in a tremendous match against the man he defeated in the Best of the Super Jr. final last year, Kota Ibushi. Devitt’s victory was his fourth defense of the prestigious belt, and all have come against outsiders. * In a rematch from the first ever “WRESTLE KINGDOM” titled show, Nagata earned his long awaited revenge over old rival Minoru Suzuki, pinning him with a backdrop hold in 16 minutes. * Yano vs. RVD was a hardcore match and was said to have entertained the fans as they used a lot of different weapons before RVD scored the win with his frog splash. * En route to the New Japan/CMLL shows coming up later this month was a special tag match featuring three Mexican stars and Liger, with the lucha libre style on show and a surprise outcome as Liger was pinned. * The opening match on camera for the IWGP Tag Team Title was said to have been quite exciting due to the fast pace for a heavyweight three way tag, Bad Intentions once again retaining the belts as they fended off Seigi Gun and one of America’s top tag teams from TNA Wrestling, Beer Money Inc., Anderson pinning Robert Roode.
