There is a mixture here of WrestleCrap and stuff that you just dont seem to like............ I read it, but this is gonna look like a long post, so I cut it down a great deal to save some having to scroll through a lot. I disagree with leaving out MacGruber and The A-Team. They definitely should be nominated in some capacity, for the bad acting, killing Ted Dibiase's career, and pretty much screaming "FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!" at everyone watching. They might as well have done that. And yes, while I agree some of those options shouldn't be gooker worthy (like EY, who I'm starting to love all over again), these two were the worst of the worst.

Honestly I think this is TNA's year. The WWE IMO has really one thing on the table and that is NXT unless the mystery GM storyline ends Monday.
NXT-If the WWE wins this year it will probably be this one. You had ECW a solid show that was a mixture of new talent, young talent needing a second chance, and also gave some veterans who had done nothing, something to do. This was dropped for NXT a reality show where the winner would get a full WWE contract. As part of the show's concept each rookie was paired up with a pro. So far there is nothing wrong with this concept. Then you had as part of each show challenges. Again there was nothing wrong with that except for one thing and it is here that NXT took a turn for the worst. The challenges had absolutely nothing to do with wrestling or cutting in-ring promos. You had things like obstacle courses and fighting with pugil sticks. Basically they started doing the same thing that got the diva search crapped on. For the second season they could have redeemed themselves by putting less focus on the contests or making them wrestling related. Instead we had the same thing again and it ended with the awful beat-down. Oh and the winner of NXT season 2 was immediately put to jobber status. By the time season 3 rolled around WWE knew NXT was a joke and also knew it was a lame duck show so they went for a more comical route.
The battle for the Hall of Fame rings-Hogan gives Abyss his WWE Hall of Fame ring. This gives Abyss superpowers This sets up a feud with Flair over his hall of fame ring and eventually leads to both Hogan and Flair "working" a tag team match on TV in 2010. Oh and since it is Russo booking, Abyss eventually turns on Hogan. If it could not get anymore pathetic someone made this observation. This storyline happened in March. Guess what is going on in March in the WWE. The Hall of fame build-up.
TNA hires the has-beens and never-weres-Bringing in Anderson and even Van Dam was not that bad of an idea. Both of them were very popular. However we also got a lot of other people who got hired because they were either cronies with Hogan or had been in the WWE. There were the Nasty Boys (who several predicted would appear), Hall and Syxx-Pac, Orlando Jordon, Shannon Moore, Jeff Hardy (more on him in a moment), and Bubba the Love Sponge. I am not happy that we did not see Beefcake, I am amazed (or it has happened since I stopped watching Impact?)
Jeff Hardy-I don't honestly see this one even getting nominated after the Eddie Guerrero exploitation won a few years ago but I am going to suggest it anyway. You bring in a guy who is having legal problems. When I say legal problems I am not talking about something like DUI or disorderly conduct. I am talking about federal yes I said federal drug charges. Not only does he have that hanging over his shoulders he also has a reputation for being a drug addict. TNA sees ratings so they sign him anyway and eventually give him the championship. Now it is rumored that he has wrestled high.
Them-For months TNA hyped up the date 10-10-10 and said something huge was going to happen. What it turned out to be was the creation of yet another nWo storyline complete with a Hogan heel turn, Bischoff being in and also running TNA, and the top champion also in as well. Hmm that last bit sounds very fimiliar.
Impact 10/14/10-Okay one of the things that people still crap on WCW for was the 3/8/99 Nitro that had no wrestling at all in the first 72 minutes. Leave it to TNA to do basically the same thing 11 years later. It begins with Them coming to the ring and cutting a long promo, Dixie being kicked out of the Impact Zone and more of Them. Then we get a "match" which is Tara laying down for Madison. Afterwards we get yet another promo this time from Kurt Angle. Finally nearly 75 minutes in we get our first real match which lasts all of three minutes before ending in a DQ. Afterwards we get another in-ring promo from Rob Van Dam, then a 5 on 1 handicapped match. Then another in-ring segment involving Jersey Shore's J-Wwow. Oh and it should be noted that this segment was going against Jersey Shore. Finally a main event match that overuns into Reaction and goes to a no contest because of Them. I have no clue what happened next on Reaction as watching it would probably require me to take up drinking.
The Monday Night Fiasco-TNA thinks that they can do like WCW did in 1995 by taking the war to WWE. Instead TNA gets stomped each week in the ratings. They try several things, none of it works and eventually they drop the whole idea.
The Killing of the Knockout Division-One area where TNA beat the WWE was the Knockout division. However 2010 the Knockouts went downhill. Besides the previously mentioned Tara laydown, there was also the night where the Knockouts Championship changed hands because Angelina Love opened a lockbox. Also there was Awesome Kong getting into it with Hogan's buddy Bubba the Love Sponge and leaving, forcing TNA to find a replacement for Kong. They went with Rosie Lottalove someone who lasted maybe one or two matches at most.

My vote goes for Abyssamania. Dear god, there was nothing good about that. If anything deserves the first TNA Gooker, it's that.

crash1984, I was wondering if TNA has become a parody or a shell of itself this past year. The Knockouts "fall" earlier in the year was disturbing nevertheless.

For me personally, it's down to two things.
NXT1-3: Just horrible from many different standpoints. First, they cancelled ECW, a show that a lot of people really enjoyed, for this. NXT started out promising - until it quickly devolved into stupid, poorly thought out and executed challenges, Daniel Bryan Jobfest and David Otunga. The first season went relatively okay - but the second season could practically get its own nomination. The names, first of all, were all so bad that they had to be a rib - Michael McGillicutty, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon - WHAT? The season started with a beatdown of the rookies that was never really brought up again. Later in the season, Percy Watson randomly turned on MVP, leading to the rookies beating down the pros. Again, this was never brought up after it happened. Combine this with Mustache and various botches, and then top it off with McGillicutty's swimming pool and breast feeding lines, the Genesis of McGillicutty and finally the horribly failed beatdown, including the Percy Watson/Alex Riley fiasco and Titus O'Neill completely no-selling the pros. Oh, and Titus would later go on to show his penis to the whole world on Twitter. I don't even need to bring up NXT3. We all know how bad that was.
TNA 2010 - I'm not trying to be funny. I'm fairly forgiving of TNA, and I always try to look at the positives - but they've done so many Gooker-deserving things in this one year that it really seems best to just wrap them all into one nice bundle. This isn't to say that TNA hasn't done great things this year - they have. But they've been sadly overshadowed by Abyssamania, killing the KO and X divisions (including that horrifying cage match on Jan 4 and the Bubba/Kong incident), They/Immortal, 10/14/10, moving to Mondays among other smaller things that just pile on to the deservingness.
Personally, I want it to go to NXT.

I can't imagine the Gooker going to anything but NXT, and yet, this is the one year where I feel TNA really DESERVES to win the Gooker this year given the catastrophic amount of misfires they've rattled off. I never really felt that way in previous years because I always thought WWE did something that deserved the Gooker more (Hornswoggle, Eddiesploitation, Hornswoggle again, etc.), but this really should be TNA's year. Problem is, I just don't see NXT losing.

[quote author=ragingdemons . -Monday Night Wars Part 2 - This for me has to be it. TNA are full of bravado because they draw around 1.0 every Thursday that this translates into challenging RAW, and then they get sent with their tail between their legs. The final warning to them to stop trying to beat the WWE at what the WWE does best. GODDAMN GOOKER. People really dont seem to get what makes a Gooker winner significant. Its not your least favourite angle, but its the most ridiculous, nonsensical, illogical, plain dumb idea of the year. Its based on an egg that was left on the stage for months, under the premise of a surprise being hatched, and it turned out to be a guy in a turkey outfit. Vince McMahon got people excited to see a man in a turkey suit hatch. About half of the stuff you listed is nowhere near Gooker worthy. This. TNA going to Monday night was one of the lest thoughtout moves in years. People forget when WCW moved to Monday night their Saturday show were getting ratings close to what Raw was, so it wasn't that much of shock of then going head-to-head and did well. WWE was so far ahead of TNA at the time of their move, that it would take years for TNA to catch up. In fact when they were head-to-head TNA's ratings got worse. In stead of the 1.0's they got it was more 0.8's or 0.7's. In fact the replays on Thursday's were higher rated then Monday.

-NXT Season 2 Finale - That alone couldve been a Botchamania. -Impact 10/14/10 - Krusty the Clown said it best, "What the hell was that?" Those are my two votes. I honestly don't know which was worse. The NXT thing was horrible, but at least they have the excuse of being green.

We have so many utterly stupid angles and things to choose from this year, I honestly don't know what I would pick out of OJ, Abyssamania or NXT.
I think this'll be TNA's year though.

Another one:
The Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon match and its build-up. Though it was nice to finally see the Hart family get their moment in the sun, but for obvious reasons it was never going to be, and never ended up being, a classic "5 star" Bret Hart match. They had 12 years worth of heat to play off of but instead WWE felt they needed to add a new feud involving a limo accident.

I honestly don't know which was worse. The NXT thing was horrible, but at least they have the excuse of being green. I can't put the NXT season 2 finale as my Gooker. For the reason that it was so bad, it was hilarious. It was entertaining for all the wrong reasons. Also, Cole and Josh were hilarious the last 20 minutes.

Top 3:
-TNA tries to face off against WWE in the Monday Night Wars. Hijinks ensue. -10/14/10 iMPACT. I feel like whenever that gets mentioned, Satan gets more powerful. -NXT. I can give S1 a pass because they were trying, but then they got lazy and it bombed in their faces.

Let's See what we have so far since this thread is getting bigger & bigger. I'll note what are the new ones & what are modified.
(This is NOT MY Opinion. If you want to see my opinion I marked it on here. What I did was gather all the opinions of what people posted COULD be Gooker Nominations on this thread & put it here for everybody to see. So some of these POSSIBLE nominations were based on what was posted here. Think of it as a quick refresher course so you don't have to go through the entire thread. Lay-Cool is represented as a whole because they were a part of "Piggie James" & the Co-Women's/Diva's Title. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. )
The Band: Nash & Hall are back...again! This time Nash needs a walker & Hall needed liver transplant number #109,325,692. Hall gets more liver transplants than Nathan Explosion! Of course this led to The Band winning the TNA World Tag Team Titles & losing said titles because Hall goes on a bender which gets him fired.
Hulk Hogan Brings in His Friends: The Hulkster thought by bringing his friends; radio star "Bubba The Love Sponge" & The Nasty Boys, to help out TNA get big ratings. Instead The Nasty Boys stink up the ring while Bubba alienates TNA with his "F*** Haiti" comments that got his ass kicked by Awesome Kong. Hogan's friends get fired by TNA &...Bubba's gets fired from his Sirius radio show
John Cena's a part of "The Nexus": Nexus was one of the biggest success stories WWE has in 2010 so they thought...adding Cena to it would make it HUGE! What might be included will be John Cena's "Mexican cousin" Juan Cena.
EV2.0: The stable so nice that WWE decided to kill it so TNA decided to bring it back from the dead...again! Once again the end result of market research. Will also include the "Hardcore Justice" PPV.
Edge/Kane 2010 feud: A feud that had Edge kidnapping Paul Bearer & hilarity ensues for Kane!
Abyss & the WWE Hall Of Fame Rings: So Abyss gets Hulk Hogan's WWE Hall Of Fame ring which turns him into a TNA version of the Green Lantern. Does that make Ric Flair the TNA version of Sinestro?
"THEY"/Immortal: So Abyss hypes that "THEY" are coming. And "THEY" is...The nWo version 3.0. Yeah that makes sense!
WWE NXT: WWE's version of "The Ultimate Fighter" turns into something comical with Michael Cole using a gong & immunity challenges involving carrying barrels & using wheelbarrows.
Heel Michael Cole: If Heel Jim Ross & Heel Tony Schiavone worked...
Team Lay-Cool: 2010 started with Michelle McCool a.k.a. "Skeletor" calling Mickie James "fat." Layla then is added by wearing fat suits to impersonate Mickey James. Throw them together & you have "Team Lay-Cool". Now with Layla winning the Women's Title was okay, but "Skeletor" was apparently pissed off when she won the title so we get TWO PEOPLE carrying ONE TITLE! Personally speaking I blame Skeletor for the death of the Women's Title. Also led to the fans calling Lay-Cool "Beautiful People" rip-offs.
The "Lockbox Showdown Match": The set-up looked like "Feast or Fired" but it turned into TNA's version of "Deal Or No Deal". Ending we have an Angelina Love/Tara clusterf*** & Daffney's awkward stripping with Lacey Von Erich bouncing around for no reason.
TNA's new World Title: Debuted as a title for Jeff Hardy as a Gimmick Belt. The belt drew immediate hate from fans. The belt has many nicknames from "The Don...Don Mason Belt" to "The TNA Diva's Title". I think it's a Power Ranger accessory myself.
Jerry Springer on RAW: Creating a fake pregnancy story with The Bellas while scaring Jerry Springer...classic!
The 10/14/10 episode of TNA Impact: An hour of basically Immortal & Fourtune saying how great they are. And when there's some actual wrestling happening it's Tara laying down for Madison Rayne! NICE!
The "Stand Up For WWE Campaign": Even though the campaign recently received an award for best use of The Social Networks. Everybody from the average fan to the Connecticut Democratic Committee saw it as Vinnie Mac helping out his wife, ex-CEO & U.S. Senate Candidate Linda McMahon, to get her to win the election. Even though the entire country didn't hear the anti-WWE comments during the election.
The Swagger Soaring Eagle: Long-lost relative of The Gobbeldygooker? It fits since Guerreros are in both!
The Firing of Daniel Bryan: Daniel Bryan gets fired because, according to Bryan himself, WWE takes their PG violence seriously when Bryan gets fired for choking out Justin Roberts out of all things...a tie!
Matt Hardy vs WWE, the YouTube Videos: Matt Hardy wants out of his WWE contract but WWE doesn't want to let him go. So Matt Hardy takes it to YouTube! And how does Matt Hardy fight back? By uploading a video of himself eating grapes.
Breakup of The Hart Dynasty: Like with many Tag Teams in WWE a tag-team break up is bound to happen. Unfortunately with The Hart Dynasty...This gets REALLY ugly!
Teddy Long teaches Hornswoggle how to speak: If Hornswoggle feuding with Chavo or being Vince McMahon's illegitimate son didn't anger the fans enough. Teddy Long tries to get Hornswoggle how to speak. Lovely!
Bi-Sexual Orlando Jordan: Bi-Sexuality is okay, not if there's anything wrong with it. When Orlando Jordan comes on airing an interview show that's really uncomfortable & starts splashing a "white liquid" all over himself. OYE!
The 1/4/10 episode of Impact: Homicide & Jeff Hardy have Steel Cage Issues. One can't get out of a cage while one loves to sit on top of them.
RAW Is MACGRUBER!: Granted WWE had a limited roster thanks to the Icelandic Volcano spewing very high levels of molten ash that trapped the RAW crew in Europe. But it didn't stop the cast of the "MacGruber" movie for high COMEDY! Which all leads to R-Truth getting blown up good, blown up REAL GOOD!
"The A-Team" 's mystery: The cast of "The A-Team" movie minus Bradley Cooper & Liam Neeson solved a mystery that a 10-year old kid could solve.
The Kidnapping of Samoa Joe: Okay so Samoa Joe gets kidnapped &...nothing happens.
Concussion Eric Young: Eric Young gets kicked in the head & now he's Perry Saturn! You're Welcome!
The Monday Night Wars II: Hulk Hogan & Dixie Carter made it public via press conference that Impact was moving to Monday Nights to re-start the classic "Monday Night Wars" that WWE & WCW had. Instead the actual "War" was more like a slaughter when WWE was constantly kicking TNA's ass so bad that Impact was moved back to Thursdays a couple of months later. (My Personal Pick for Gooker)
JUST ADDED!!!
"Half-Pint Brawlers": SPIKE TV decided to add another pro wrestling show on their network along with TNA. Yes it's the return of MIDGET WRESTLING! Also marked the return of EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE MIDGET: Puppet The Psycho Dwarf who's best known for "self pleasuring" himself in a trash can when he was on TNA.
TNA Hires Jeff Hardy: At first it seemed like hiring a former WWE World Champion with major drug problems & arrested for drug trafficking SEEMED like a good idea at the time. What's that? Jeff Hardy's the TNA World Champion & he's took a plea deal which will make him spend time in jail? NICE!
The Rise & Fall of the TNA Knockouts: Once upon a time there used to be a respectable Women's Wrestling division in TNA called "The Knockout's Division." When most of the Knockout Division left due to pay or other issues COMBINED with the whole division being centered around The Beautiful People's Civil War. YIKES!
The Swagger Soaring Eagle/Hornswoggle Feud: How come I'm experiencing De Ja Vu all over again? And I don't mean the strip club either. Smells a lot like Chavo/Hornswoggle...AGAIN!
The Bret "Hit-Man" Hart/Vinnie Mac Feud: After 10 years Bret Hart forgave WWE for "The Montreal Screwjob" & decided to return to WWE to make amends for the past & to help out The Hart Dynasty. Soon after Hart feuds with Vinnie-Mac & the next thing you know. Bret Hart got ran over by a limo! All alone close to Wrestlemania Day!
