These aren't the Road Warriors, Freebirds, or Rock N Roll Express, I'm talking about the lesser known teams that were fun to watch but just never got the recognition they deserved.
I'll start with a few:
Rock and Roll RPM's: A total knockoff of the Express, but Mike Davis and Tommy Lane were a solid heel tag team. Davis is exspecially underrated as a talent.
The Nightmares: Danny Davis and Ken Wayne may have been a bit on the short side, but very few teams could work together as well as these two could. Their split and feud in Continential was a classic.
The Heavenly Bodies: I'm talking the Del Rey/Pritchard version. I know they had a cup of coffee in the WWF, but watching these guys in Smokey Mountain was just so much fun. Lane and Pritchard somehow didn't look right together like Lane and Eaton did, but the sleazy Del Rey worked perfectly with Pritchard's redneck heartthrob look.
Destruction Crew/Beverly Brothers: Loved the AWA version, and they were one of the few bright spots in the failing promotion. Bloom and Enos looked impressive, and the gimmick of Enos never being able to get a word in was pretty damn funny. Thought they could have had a short WWF tag title reign when they got the perfect mouthpiece in the Genius.

One I think is oft ignored...
Doom. When I was a youngin watchin WCW they were one of my favorites to watch... just straight power. I always dreamed up matches between them and Demolition.

Doug Furnas and Dan Kroffat, easily in my top three tag teams of all time. I really don't understand why they seemingly aren't appreciated enough. Another classic team that I hear little about was the Malenko Brothers. The little I have seen makes me regret I can't find more. EDIT: The Can-Am Express (Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas). Yay

High Energy, I thought Koko and Owen could've had a short tag team title run, they were entertaining and had great double team moves, I always thought it was their gear that made them look silly

The Heart Throbs.
...kinda surprised to see any love for Furnas and LaFon at all, though. Then again, I never saw them in Japan or ECW.

Scott Norton and Hercules Hernandez. Jurrasic Powers. Just awesome power stuff.
Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez get overlooked a lot too. Maybe because of their feud and Gino's death shortly after they split, but Adams/Gino were fantastic heels.
More recently, MNM were great, The Naturals and AMW.

The Beverly Brothers/Enos and Bloom/Minnesota Wrecking Crew II. They were big guys with a good look who were decent enough in the ring, but it just never happened for them.

Bad Company in the AWA. I know they shouldn't be considered underrated by AWA fans but overall they get overlooked because of the time period they were on top. Their WWF run was lackluster.
The Destruction crew is mentioned above and I agree with this. Mike Enos threw some babyface(might have been Ricky Rice) thru the windshield of a car near ringside(giveaway car I think). then when they were going to pull the guy out and attend to him they attacked again and were fiegning using a pickaxe. I was scarred s***less watching that. They got so much heat and the babyface got his sympathy. Well done. Verne wasn't on TV by this juncture of AWA so they really got to try and carry the show.

To me the smoking guns have always been underrated despite the bad gimmick they were given.

Not sure if they qualify for this thread but I was a big fan of the Holly's, which is weird because I usually find Bob really boring, but stick him with Crash and give them a scale and they become very entertaining.

Good call on Badd Company. I think the segment was a car lifting contest between Bloom and Ken Patera. Patera looked like he was gonna win so Enos ran out and they beat up Patera bad. I know Johnny Valiant was their manager.

The Can-Am Express (Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas). Can-Am Express is the first team that came to mind. I love their AJPW work. Dean & Joe Malenko made a great team as well, but they only teamed together a few times in the late 80s-early 90s.
