I guess they don't mean much anymore. When was the last time you enjoyed that division. For me it was the triple team tables, ladder, and chair match with the Hardy's, the Dudley's, and Edge/Christian. Bums me out especially when watching the Allied Powers DVD.

Yeah, the state of tag team wrestling doesn't begin and end with the WWF.

Yeah, the state of tag team wrestling doesn't begin and end with the WWF. QFT TNA's seems to be a bit focused on Gen Me/MCMG with Beer Money poking thru the clouds but besides that they are sort of on a down trend that way as compared to earlier in the year

Last Night
-I watched the 2nd disk of the ladder match dvd and watched probably one of the most under-rated TLC matches ever and the only one ever on Smackdown.
Hardyz vs. Dudleys vs. E & C vs. Benoit / Jericho (c)
The match where Benoit went for the diving headbutt early on to Christian or Matt Hardy (?) on the outside and he moved making Benoit crash through the table and shatter two discs in his back; only to come back half through the match to retain the titles with Jericho.
One hell of a match & such a shame the tag division is nothing like it was then

I don't get why tag wrestling doesn't appeal to Vince anymore, Tag matches are meant to be more exciting and more unpredicable. I mean tag match main event were suppose to be the main focus of SummerSlam before 1992

Tag divisions were also a great way to get two guys over at once, and offer variety to your audience.
Last time I was watching either, TNA's and ROH's seemed strong, but the WWE's hasn't mattered in about seven years. The obsession with breaking teams up is a very, very bad one.

Vince probably fell into the same frame of mind Bisch had in WCW in that Tag teams were like paying two guys for one spot on the show. Someone in the inner circle probably got the idea in Vince's head that there is no money in long term tag teams and they were only good for having feuds when they inevitably split up. Of course 9 times out of 10 there is no money in those matches either and both guys end up getting released anyway.

My favorite story is from London and Kendrick in their shoot about how they were given a tour of WWE Titan Tower along with Gene Snitsky when they first started teaming together.
They noticed that there wasn't any tag teams up on the wall except for the Legion of Doom, and Kendrick asked Shane why... and Shane replied with, "I haven't cared for a tag team since them."
They then say how their morale after that sunk since tag teams weren't a priority of them. They also talked about how Vince didn't want to give them a team name, since when he eventually broke them up "people won't know who you are, so we are going to brand your names in the team name."
Sad stuff.

Anyone jonesing for tag team action need look no further than CHIKARA. The whole promotion is basically built around tag teams.
PWG also has a hell of a tag division, due to some great regulars, and a lot of guest stars always passing through.
