Regal supposedly done soon, and I thought of something the WWE could do to say farewell to him.
Announce a new European Title tournament. Have all European guys in it this time, from both brands(and beyond.)
Vladimir Kozlov vs Welshtista, sorry I mean, Mason Ryan
William Regal vs Wade Barrett
Finley vs Sheamus
Drew McIntyre vs Santino if you're willing to fake it or Norman Smiley if you're not.
Have Regal get to the finals. He wins the European title, gives a victory speech, then announces his retirement taking the new European title with him.

Interesting idea, but if it were to happen, I would rather him then hold the title for a very long time, almost a year if not a full year, and then lose it in a close contest to a younger guy, to both get the title and the other wrestler over big.
All the same, I would handle his retirement by giving him a good run with one of the world titles.

I'd rather they have him retire in a US Title match against Daniel Bryan.

I'd like to see him give a speech at the UK Raw just after Wrestlemania. I'm not putting him on the same level as Michaels or Flair but I think they could let him give a quick 5 minute speech about his career and how it is time to call it a day. Considering how much WWE cares about tag teams, maybe team him with some random guy and let him win the Tag Titles the night after Wrestlemania and then lose them a week or two later at the UK Raw.

Don't like the idea of introducing a new title and having a tournament for it all to just wipe it out of existence right after.
Also can't imagine them having Regal go over just about anyone you list as being in that tournament (other than Santino, and Finlay's gone already).

I'd rather they have him retire in a US Title match against Daniel Bryan. Give them 15 - 20 minutes on PPV and it would be a **** star match. EASY! Would love to see it at Wrestlemania, but WWE would not let DBD and Regal steal the spotlight.

Finley works backstage and showed up dressed to wrestle during a lumberjack match a couple of months ago. I'd have Regal get a tainted win in the first round. Maybe put Barrett against McIntyre instead with him wrestling Santino or Smiley. Koz would beat Ryan, but suffer a beatdown by New Nexus making him easy pickings for the second round. Finley would use the shilileigh and Hornswaggle distraction to beat Sheamus, and squeak by in the second round against whoever he fought.

I'd combine some of the ideas here, have the 20 minute match with Daniel Bryan at the UK Raw, when Bryan wins have a moment of neutral respect, then the five minute retirement speech.

Give him a PPV match with Daniel Bryan for the US Title. After that on RAW he'll give a speech where he puts Daniel over and says their match proved hot the student has become the master and now there's nothing left for Regal to do etc.

Let him retire on a British tour, preferable at the MEN as that's closest to his hometown.

Let him retire on a British tour, preferable at the MEN as that's closest to his hometown. Well he was born in Codsall. The nearest large city to there would be Birmingham. But I think his retirement deserves a larger venue than the NIA or LG Arena.

Regal is a professional... No matter how he goes out, he is going out on his back 1.2.3. clean!

Does WWE do Raw in Birmingham though? he's billed as being from Blackpool. He should retire as Intercontinental or US champion, give him some dignity he has been in the company for 12ish years and in the professional wrestling business since the 1970s and one of the last true technical wrestlers

I think realistically the best case scenario for Regal would be winning the pre-show 'Mania battle royal and announcing his retirement there. They'd show a clip of it in between matches at the show.
