In recent years, the Super Bowl halftime shows have been horrid. They've had huge buildup, and lackluster performances have just made them a chore to watch. Since the famous wardrobe malfunction, the Super Bowl has been trying to go PG. Why not have the WWE do a Battle Royal, or something? I know the WWE's production crew can set up in the 10 minutes or so that they get between the end of the half and the start of their show, and if the Super Bowl is on NBC, they can cross-promote to their heart's content. Granted, Cena would have to win, but if you do something like bring the big names and have a one-off, it could be at least watchable.

If WWE set up a ring and had a battle royal for the half time show, I'd call it a good idea. It'd be a good way to show off some of the talent, there's crossover appeal between the sports, and it would do a good job of keeping the action from grinding to a screeching halt.

I was just gonna say they did do a Halftime Heat show in 1999 which had Mankind vs Rock in the Empty Arena match. I'm pretty sure their Attitude commercials were shown during that Superbowl too. As far as how it did, it got a 6.6 rating, the highest rating Sunday Night Heat had ever got.

Had to vote for talking about Wade Barrett, but I do think it could be a good idea. Worked in the past, and while I'm sure it'd have its detractors, it'd be a good publicity stunt. Just make sure it's at a superbowl where there's nobody with vaguely amusing names for McMahon to mock if it goes wrong.

It'd be a different animal from Halftime Heat, because the viewers wouldn't be changing the channel to watch it. The other thing about it is, it could also lead to a short term ratings boost, as well as a small uptick in Mania buyrates, what with it being about two months away.
Also, they'd have maybe 10-15 minutes for this, so it'd have to be really quick.

Actually, I think the last Halftime Heat was an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2000. It was his first interview since being run over at Survivor Series.

Wait, this question actually involves the WWE actually getting the rights to do the NFL's halftime show? Not just putting a show on opposite the halftime show?
The NFL would never go for that in a million years.

Cena jobs to no one! He must AA the winning QB and rawr like a monster around the field while all current factions, regardless of numbers in membership, cry. ;D

Didn't the halftime HEAT with The Rock and Mankind end with a poorly edited spot of Mankind crushing rock with a forklift?

10 minutes to set up a ring? Really?
I mean, I don't know how long it usually takes... but that seems like it's insanely fast to me.
