Steve Austin's first movie of his 3 film deal with WWE picture is due to start filming here in Australia sometime soon. It is called The Condemned, it also stars Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells, Gone In 60 Seconds, The Mean Machine) & William B. Davis (Smoking Man from The X-Files.
IMDB.com list the plot as: An inmate on death row in a Central American prison is "purchased" by a TV producer who is putting together a show where 10 contestants battle to the death.
This means that WWE have filmed Cena's, Kane's & Austin's movies all in Australia, mainly on the Gold Coast.

Skelldertaker is right.
Its sounds like a rip off of 'The Running Man'. Which itself is an underrated Action film. It also starred Jesse Ventura.

The film sounds awful. Was austin in the logest yard Vinnie Jones was in the british version however Vinnie vs Austin would be a dream match

I don't know, it doesn't sound bad even though it probably will be. 10 contestants battle to the death? Sounds fun to me! ;D
Reminds me of this movie I watched I think it was called Contenders.

I'lll agree with a rip-off of Running Man (and yeah, it is under rated), but it might not be the worst thing. If they concentrated on brutality with even a marginal plot, it won't be the worst thing I've ever seen.

WWE film many movies in here Australia, yet dont tape shows But still, it sounds like something with a dull story, and the main attraction is the random violence and the countless beatings... I doubt it would bomb after all, how is this different from the WWE?

Reminds me of this movie I watched I think it was called Contenders. Series 7: The Contenders? The reality show movie with the pregnant champion, and they would all kill each other? That movie ruled. I think Austin's movie will be allright. Nothing to exciting, but a fun way to spend 90 minutes with a beer or three. It reminds me more of the Vandam movie where he's in a French Prison's underground fighting. Or the Christopher Lambert/Ice-T pick with 50 killers, bucket loads of weapons, and last man standing gets 5 million in a prison flick. And heck I like Austin on Nash Bridges, though he was just doing the Stone Cold gimmick on a harley. Heck they should make Austin's movies a trilogy and hit 3 of the stereotypical VanDamme/Norris/Seagal "stories". First Austin fights in death games, then escapes. Next Austin on the run, defends a family against evil businessmen or drug dealers, ending with him being captured. Finally to earn his freedom Austin must fight east European Terrorists or the Russian Mafia, over some doomsday device.
