Figured I'd give this a shot.
Basically a dedicated thread for discussing WWE DVD's and Blu Rays both past and present. Finding deals, posting your collection. Things like that.
Since I'm kicking this off, I'll start off with some news, courtesy of our friends at wwedvdnews.com.
Survivor Series 2010 comes out this Tuesday on DVD and on Blu Ray (only at Best Buy). The Blu Ray version will have Old School Raw as an extra. Both versions should have the Miz cashing in his MITB, but it may only be the DVD.
Here is the planned schedule of releases for all of 2011.
January: Best of Raw 2010, TLC 2010
Febuary: The Big Show: A Giant's World
March: The Wrestlemania Story, Royal Rumble 2011, Elimination Chamber 11
April: Degeneration-X: The Final Conflict
May: Wrestlemania XXVII, Best of Nitro Seasons 1 & 2, Extreme Rules 2011
June: Over The Limit 2011, The Million Dollar Man
July: Best Cage Matches, Fatal 4way
August: Money In The Bank 2011, Raw: Best of Seasons 3 & 4
September: Summerslam 2011, The Randy Orton Experience
October: Smackdown: Best of 2010/11, Night of Champions 2011
November: Hell in a Cell 11, Triple H, Bragging Rights 11, The 50 Greatest Matches in WWE History
December: Austin/Rock The Rivalry, Survivor Series 2011, The Best PPV Matches of 2011
Once again credit goes to wwedvdnews.com.
So hopefully, this thread can be a good place to talk about WWE DVD's and such, allthough I realize some DVD's will get threads, and rightfully so. This is more about talking about news, our collections, deal finding, older releases. Just general stuff like that.

The Survivor Series BR will be worth it just for Old School Raw.

Didn't they already do a cage match DVD?
Looking forward to the best of Raw and Nitro sets.
And still no CM Punk DVD. Sadness.

The Survivor Series BR will be worth it just for Old School Raw. Its only 19.99 right now on Best Buy's site, the only store that carries it.

Gohastings.com has some used WWF era DVDs for very good prices. I spotted the following ppvs in stock
Summerslam 01 Unforgiven 01 Invasion 01
Shipping is pretty bad, but the prices may make up for it.

Prices for those ones are decent compared to the rest of 2001's PPV DVDs, which are like close to $30. I am still glad I bought Wrestlemania X-Seven last year at a record store for $20 used. It was a better deal than the deals on Amazon.

Go to the Wrestling subsection of Movies and TVs (under sports), opt for $5-$10. WCCW - $9 Piper: Born to Controversy - $6.50 Ultimate Flair - $9 Jake Roberts: PYP - $6 AWA - $9 Hogan Ultimate - $9 No Way Out 07 - $6 Sur Ser 06 - $9 McMahon - $9 Unforgiven 06 - $9 The First Three Legends of Wrestling Volumes and Heat Seekers each for under $10 as well. Oh, and their first line of DVD releases that were bareboned VHS transfers (Boyhood Dream, Andre, IC Championship, etc.) If you don't have prime, free shipping over $25. And for some reason, some of them are free shipping without the $25 like Piper's.

I think of all the releases next year, the one I'm looking forward to most is The Wrestlemania Story. Especially if its really in depth documentary. Being that it comes out in March, I expect a huge push for this one.

What was eveyone's general thoughts on the "Rise and Fall of WCW" dvd? I was thinking about picking it up after seeing how much I enjoyed the one on ECW.

What was eveyone's general thoughts on the "Rise and Fall of WCW" dvd? I was thinking about picking it up after seeing how much I enjoyed the one on ECW. It's not even close to as good as the ECW one. It's really disappointing. It focuses on the early WCW (pre Nitro) for what feels like 2 hours, then quickly brushes through Nitro history, then skips most of the end. Also, Sting is barely in it. I'd like to add that I think "The Randy Orton Experience" will have a gigantic picture of Orton's face as the cover. And in 2012 there will be a "Triple H Experience"

I really couldn't care less about early WCW to be honest. I mostly wanted to see what they would say about the Nirto/MNW era. So that's kind of disappointing, looks like I'll pass. What about the Hell In a Cell collection, although I'm not too big on dvds based on a single match type, I just want a good quality version of the Armageddon HIAC. Did people enjoy this set and more importantly, was it generally good quality?

I was at Walmart yesterday and came across a bundle of the HIAC Anthology and HIAC 09 PPV. I forget how much it was up for, but I am skeptical about getting that because I heard that the HIAC PPV from last year was not great and really, when it regards the HIAC Anthology, I have some of the PPV DVDs with a few on there, but then there are the matches during the time when the letter F was still in the initials. I just get annoyed by the blurring. If it was blacked out, then I wouldn't be as annoyed.

So if anybody wants something collectable, pick up those sets if you find them.

I really recommend you get the Monday Night Wars DVD. It covers that entire topic for almost 3 hours. It's a stellar documentary and one of my favorites. I've seen practically every WWE documentary available and that one is one of my favorites. Rise and Fall of WCW was good, I enjoyed it. Not nearly as comprehensive as it could be, of course, but it was a great set with nice features overall.
