I was thinking about Matt the other day and how he's been replaced on commentary on Smackdown. I was wondering what he was going to do other than NXT and backstage interviews. Then I remembered, he's a wrestler. I don't know why I completely forgot about that. So has there ever been talk of him getting back in the ring, is he retired for good, or did he have some injury which has prevented him from getting in the ring?
I missed most of the time he was wrestling on ECW, so I don't know if he was any good in the ring or not, I'm sure his size doesn't help getting over with Vince. So what do you guys think will we ever see him wrestle again?

Probably not, as in all honesty...he just wasn't very good.
I don't believe he's injured, I think he just got moved to commentary because he's very good on the mic but nothing special in the ring.

He did have an awesome match with Kurt Angle in the Angle invitational. But it was only 3 minutes.

Based on his commentary, I'm sure he oversold the crap out of everything, but knew how to do some moves...but not when to do them.

One of his last matches was putting over Evan Bourne after he had recently debuted on ECW. That was pretty good - I remember he hit a really sweet rope-hung neckbreaker move.

I thought he was a solid worker. He had some really good matches on ECW against Punk.

Solid, but unspectacular in ring talent. Great for putting guys over, but not useful for much else, in my experience.

Still don't understand why they didn't just have him announce that he wants King's spot on Raw so Lawler could have a WM match with him.
Striker's oversell-ability would've fit King's punches.

He's a f***ing master at in-ring psychology.

He' was pretty good in the ring, but I think he is better served as a host/interviewer. I think he may have a future as an announcer, but I did not enjoy his work for the past year and a half or so.

I've always hated Matt Striker... the less of him the better
He was an average in ring performer imo
