Hey everyone.
For my big Christmas present this year, I got two tickets to WrassleManya in Hotlanta. I have never been to a WWE Pay-Per-View event before, and I am just wondering, what do I need to know about attending the show of shows. Any tips you can give would be most wonderful
Thank you so very much
Brian~

If you want in first, get there a few hours early. Even then it's no guarantee.
If you're going to take pictures, make sure either your battery is fully charged or you have a spare.
If you don't make it in first and want merchandise, the best times are either JUST as the show is starting or during a match (I'm guessing on the latter, I never walk out during a match).
Keep a note of where the bathrooms are.
Above all else: lose the smarkiness and just let yourself mark out for things. You'll find the show more enjoyable that way.
*These are all experiences I had going to WrestleMania XX.

If you're in the higher seats, bring binoculars. The Georgia Dome is huge and the ring will look really really small from the top of the arena. Of course there will be screens, but you didn't pay to watch screens.
If you have floor seats but aren't in the first few rows, prepare to get pissed off any time something cool happens because everybody will decide to stand up, meaning that you have to stand up if you plan on seeing it. It's particularly bad when the wrestlers are fighting outside the ring. Sadly there's not much you can do about it other than standing on your chair, but that's kind of crappy for the people behind you.
If you plan on drinking beer, bring lots of money. A cup of beer is usually like five dollars, and it's the equivalent of a regular sized can.

I attended WM 23 in Orlando, and here's some tips from that experience:
- if you have to time to kill, get there early...my gf and I got there 3 hours early thinking there wouldn't be a whole lot going on and we missed a Rev Theory concert that I didn't know about (plus about 20,000 other people had the same idea I did, lol)
- at the Fan Axxess things, do everything...even if it's supposed to be "kid oriented" or not...its fun
- I agree with the above statement about not letting the "smarkiness" take over...its way more enjoyable this way
- if you want any merchandise that is an WM exclusive, be prepared to stand in line for a long time. At WM 23 there was a shirt that I really wanted that had the WM logo and said "Was There" with the WWE logo as the "w"... I waited too long and it was gone within an hour or so of the gates opening
- don't be afraid to talk to those around you. Most are all there to have fun like yourself, and it's amazing to see how much similar interests you will have with many of these people
- don't be the loud annoying guy chanting stupid obscenities... "Can't see shit!!" gets REALLY REALLY annoying after sitting for 5 hours in the same spot
- don't be afraid to explore the stadium... my gf and I was doing that after we made sure we found our seats and found a spot at the top row on the opposite side of the stadium where we could watch the wrestlers hang out before the show began
- take pictures...lots of them..especially if someone is going who is not into wrestling that much...my gf took about 200 pics and we really had some good ones..like during John Morrison's MITB intro and his name said "Jim Morrison"
- if your looking to save money, eat before you get there...nothing is more annoying than paying $4 for a hot dog... buying drinks there is pretty inevitable, though
- be prepared to be in awe when the Undertaker comes out... it's absolutely amazing

=Get there early I went to Wrestlemania 23 in Detroit an I got there around noon and the streets were packed, the Ford Field lot was full so i had to park near the top of the Detroit Tigers lot. The atmosphere of Mania is really no different then the Super Bowl.
-The fans can be a bit crazy such as a guy running through the street dressed as the Ultimate Warrior.
-You'll probably see wrestlers enter the stadium at WM 23 Batista, Lashley,Mick Foley, RVD and Triple H were all spotted near the wrestler entrance and they all acknowleged the fans.
-Seeing Wrestlmania in a big stadium and seeing it fill up with 80,000 people was an amazing experience itself.

I also attended Wrestlemania in Orlando and I have a story that hopefully you can learn from:
I attended the show with two of my best friends. We spent a few days in Orlando drinking and partying and having a good time.
Our hotel was 17 miles from the Citrus Bowl. So we had to get a taxi to get there.
so when the show is over my buddy has a "great" idea.
He figured that there was at least 70,000 people looking for taxis so at 12 freaking midnight he says:
"the farther we walk away from the stadium the better chance we will have in getting a taxi!"
Now the girls who worked at this bar close to our hotel warned us against going near the OBT, the ghetto in Orlando, so guess where we ended up? Lost in the ghetto!
after about an hour of walking through an area full of drug dealers and prostitutes we hear some loud music playing at this bar. So my buddies say:
"We can stop here, have a beer, and call a cab."
Keep in mind we are 3 white guys lost in the ghetto
We stop at this bar and the black police officer at the door laughs at us. We walk inside, we are the only people of the Caucasian persuasion there. Otherwise its African Americans and Hispanics and they let us know we weren't welcome. They all looked at us like we were chalk outlines. While my friends were drinking Coronas because they laughed when they ordered Miller Lites, I was praying that we would get out of there alive. I had to pee, but I was afraid to use the bathroom there.
Eventually we left and kept walking. We ended up downtown. I couldn't keep up with my friends. We had been walking for 2 hours or so. I was tired and hungry, and there was a McDonalds with the dining room open serving burgers! I had never seen a MickeyDs with a dining room open that late serving supper, so thinking my buddies would know I stopped and went in, thats what I did.
When I ordered and got my food my buddies called my cell. I told them where I was and said lets eat and get a cab from there. They already had a cab ready. Long story short I tried to find them but I couldn't. They sent another cab to find me, but it didn't. So I walked until I found a cab a half a mile away from the hotel. We were all pissed with one another, but were able to get over it and laugh about it the next day.
Moral of the story, if your hotel is far away from the Georgia Dome, CALL A CAB THERE! and don't be white and get lost in the ghetto after you were already warned about it

Another thing to look at is the possibility of public transportation to get you there. I didn't have the luxury in Orlando or Phoenix (at least for WM) but in Houston they had a train that took you from downtown right to the stadium. It was pretty cheap to do so.
Have a great time when you're out there and live it up. Also check out the other events going on around ATL. I highly suggest Axxess...but if you also have a chance to hit up the ROH shows or the DGUSA shows do that.

Best tip was to lose any smarkiness and just enjoy the event. Thinking about booking and things like that will make it less fun then getting lost in the product like you did as a kid.

I don't think being white is going to be a problem down in Georgia. You have obviously not been to Atlanta. That's because I'm white, and I don't want to get lost in the ghetto.

Pyro is too loud. You'll be surrounded by kids who still think it's real. Everything's overpriced, especially the churros. Don't eat the churros. Tons of counterfeit merchandise stands in the stadium. You'll know the difference if you see a shirt that says "Jake Cena: Hardwork, Adherence and Mutual Reverence". Somebody will be sitting in your seat when you arrive. Ted DiBiase has a strange odor when he walks by. Kelly Kelly looks even more dead behind the eyes in person. Avoid eye contact with Vince McMahon if you happen to cross paths at some point because he's deranged and will think you're trying to kill him and he'll have security escort you off the premises without a refund.
Oh, and remember where you parked.

-Get there early. I've been to three Wrestlemanias. 20 in NYC, 24 in Orlando and 25 in Houston. We left with what we thought was plenty of time for NYC and Orlando, but ended up making it to our seats just before the show started first time. Left about 6 hours before the event for Houston, got there in plenty of time and were among the first couple hundred through the gate. If you don't get there long before the gates open, you will be stuck in the massive line trying to get in.
-If you get there early, get your merch right away. There will be 60 thousand people behind you that want to get merch, so get yours first.
-Find your seats right away. Put down your signs, jacket, stuff, whatever. Now that you know where your seats are, feel free to wander.
-Make sure to have fun, endear yourself to your fellow wrestling fans and you'll have a great time. Cheer for your favorites, boo who you don't like, get caught up in the atmosphere. Just watch the language, people are there with their kids.
-If you must bring a sign, hold it up during entrances and then PUT. IT. DOWN during the match. No one wants to be the guy who can't see HHH vs. Undertaker because someone has their sign up right in front of them for all 20 minutes.
-If you're driving, be patient getting out. You will be stuck in the parking lot for a long time, might as well enjoy it.
-Feel self pity that you won't be able to see Mr. Wrestlemania live.
