It would get people talking for a day or two. It wouldn't help HHH. It wouldn't help anyone who needs a rub. That would make zero sense.

One problem I have with ending the Streak - what could possibly be big enough to put Undertaker down? Pedigree through the announce table? Not nearly climactic enough, given he's done this twice now and the commentary's playing it up as something Taker for sure couldn't get up from. And there's nothing bigger short of an Austin / Rock-style beatdown to put the deadman down.

It would accomplish nothing.
It won't happen.

Taker loses because HHH, HBK, and .......DIESEL all come down and beat the ever-lovin' piss outta him. It's no DQ, No Holds Barred, w/e.....I could see a screwy finish like this just to "get people talking". OR Above scenario....but taker manages to actully win. Ok.....I' not a Taker Mark, but I'm a mark for keeping certain booking traditions alive. I think The Streak is bigger than Taker, that anyone that has been with a company, that the company has had enough faith in to keep them winning for nearly 2 decades at their biggest event and people STILL tune in and pay thier $60 to see it...you can't BUY that kind of publicity. All the Stunt Casting of Flavor of the Nanosecond "stars", all the "Shocking Returns", all the swerves and angles in the world can't generate that ind of publicity.

Storyline wise the only person who SHOULD end it is Kane.
Throw that aside and CM Punk is the one who really has EARNED the right to end it. He is a genius on the mic, can work with ANYONE, sells his ass off, will NEVER fail wellness, can switch between hated heel and loved face at will. Isn't "hated" like Cena, isn't "boring" like Orton, isn't "over hyped" like Shamus. Is small enough where a win would shock the world BUT is credible enough of a threat where a win wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
Punk would not have to win with the GTS. I would be more shocked at a schoolboy roll up pin, catch Taker totally by surprise.

Personally, while I think the streak should stay in place there's only one person I'd be okay with breaking it - John Cena, and that's only if it's used to turn him heel off of it.

I'm liking this idea of Punk as the streak-breaker, if there were one. But, knowing how WWE is, I expect Miz to end it next year via Sub-Miz-ion or something stupid like that.

I really love Punk
But him breaking the streak is not likely nor a good idea Punk is fine where he is, true he is a competent worker but breaking the streak is something to give to someone who can really be built as "the man" Punk is not mainstream enough for this, he looks like a drug abuser, he isn't big enough to project "wrestler", and he seems like the kinda guy who would glady tell a interviewer off, company be damned.... now do not get me wrong I am not bashing Punk for any of that he is beyond awesome and will be a main eventer for time to come, however he is not a good person to break the streak
Miz is not either he is better for mainstream appeal but sadly he doesn't project the same aura of Hulk, Austin, or Rock.... he might be a new Cena someday but he will not be the kind of "The Man" that Hulk, Austin, or Rock were
If anyone breaks it, then it should be a person who can provide mainstream appeal, projects that big wrestler looking guy image, and can be trusted
As of right now the WWE does not have anyone who fits that description so I say the Streak should of 20-0
Personally I would love the Kliq to reunite and annihilate Taker ending his Streak and career.... but thats because I'm tired of Taker and realistically that would be a terrible business decision

What I don't understand is why everyone seems to agree that anyone that ends the streak will become a hated heel. Why? Sure, everyone loves the streak, but why would the fans hate someone for doing the unthinkable, provided he didn't cheat to win?

The streak should never end. The Undertaker should forever be the benchmark for WrestleMania to give other guys somehting to aspire to.
He also should retire after this year.

I really think that if anyone would have ended it, it should've been HBK. Since that's impossible, it should continue until he retires.

Having an Undertaker streak match at Mania is auto-pilot booking. It's as much a gimmick match as a MITB at this point. Unless it's Taker's final Mania match I dont see it happening. I do expect Takers final match to be at a wrestlemania and we'll probably see him get carried off by a throng of druids into the dark in some epic cinematic abyss. I just dont think that time is now

Firmly in the camp that says it should never happen. I can see this board transpiring into meltdown should HHH actually win. I hope this is not so. I like HHH, I love Taker, so I may be a little biased, but come on, what does he really have to gain from it? If Shawn couldn't do it twice in a row, there's no way Trips should believably end it. Also, Vince ain't stupid, think how much money he can squeeze out of fans for Undertaker's 20-0 DVD. I'd buy it Best suggestion is have him retire where it all began. To Kane. That's how it really should be. Let Taker have his reward for all his hard work. Let the guy ride off into the sunset, on his motorbike... streak intact. I wouldn't want it any other way

It'd be WWE's version of the Fingerpoke of Doom. It'd end the Undertaker's streak in the worst possible manner.

Where they messed up was having Cena lose at XXIV. Could have had 8-0 Cena vs. 19-0 Taker next year. It's not much of a problem though. The two have not had a singles match since we back when was super over as a face on Smackdown in like 2004.

Still, not exactly memorable.
