wrestlingnewsworld.com, which is a reliable site, is reporting that Rey Mysterio has requested his release and threatened to retire if the company did not release him.
Btw, i don't have an account w/ the said site but I've heard the news from people who are subscribed to the said site.

wrestlingnewsworld is one of the second hand news sites. I haven't seen Dave or PWI report this yet.

Well will know in a few days if Rey's leaving or not. If they debut Sin Cara immediately then this may be true.

He had the new of The Rock being the host before everyone else and use to have all the PPV results before the show happened. This is also isn't that surprising considering Rey's past.

I doubt he had the info before anyone, on the WO radio after RAW aired the week before Rock Dave said that's who it'd wind up being(and also reported about the "Leave it to Bieber" stuff which is hilarious). Anyway, not trying to get in a news site argument, just speaking from what I had observed on the site in the past. The only news reporter I've learned to trust is Meltz so I'll wait to see if he reports it.

If this is true I am sure Rey will want to make his Mania paycheck before being released. It seems a little odd since reportedly Rey wanted to do a feud with Cody and was going to get some time off sometime after Mania.

If this is true, I'm going to celebrate like I've never celebrated before.

I don't understand celebrating one of WWE's best in-ring workers leaving.

I don't understand celebrating one of WWE's best in-ring workers leaving. He's way past his prime, and should be leaving soon anyway. He needs to go.

Its kinda odd and funny that this news broke after the robbing incident news (where one of the robbers wore a Mysterio mask).

I guess rewatching the Jericho/Rey series of matches and thinking they were some of the best matches of the past few years with terrific psychology from match to match was completely false.
My bad.
