Rewatching the series now and damn these matches are GREAT. Tremendous psychology in each match and fantastic match to match psychology as well. Two of the all time greats bringing their A games.
Discuss and appreciate.

Awesome matches. I love how Jericho was so great at avoiding the 619.

I honestly don't remember them feuding. When was this? 2009 on SD over the IC title. Absolutely fantastic. They had a three match series over Judgement Day, Extreme Rules and The Bash. The whole thing was just great, if you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and watch them. It's only slightly ahead of Jericho/HBK for my favorite series of matches of the 2000's.

Eh,I'm just not a Rey fan. I'm not knocking the guy or his fans. I've just never liked him dating back to WCW. I do like Jericho so I may give them a shot eventually. I was just wondering when the feud was because I wasn't aware they feuded. Of course,I could never watch Smackdown until they moved to SyFy.

That match at The Bash was just amazing. Those 2 have great chemistry and it really showed.

Spots that were hit in each match are learned from and dodged match to match as they "learn" each other's moves(kayfabe). Any unique spot is likely countered the next time they try it. Graet.

The only times I remember enjoying Rey Mysterio were as follows 1. Getting the shit beaten out of him by Batista 2. Getting slammed into the ring post by Big Show 3. Getting owned by Jericho (Especially liked the torture rack backbreaker spot they would always do) 4. Getting owned by Chavo 5. Getting turned into a chihuahua by Alberto
Anytime he got destroyed was great but his series wit Jericho were especially good

Yes, that feud in '09 was awesome. Each match just kept getting better every ppv. Also their matches against each other in WCW were good too. If you haven't seen those 3 ppv matches in '09, do yourself a favor and watch them.

I absolutely loved this feud, and I think the main reason was that it was an actual back-and-forth rivalry. Jericho wasn't some newer guy Rey got to bury night in and night out, so the wins and losses were far more even. Jericho actually came out looking better than Rey did.

Fantastic matches. There is a LOT that pisses me off about ReyMysterio, but its not his abilty, more to do with his character and how he is portrayed (much like Cena).
But once the bell rings, I forget all about it, 'cause he can put on some great matches. His series with Jericho in 2009 was amazing.
That feud also made the IC title look important again, its a pity that all that hard work was undone since then. Actually after that Jericho moved onto the tag titles and made THEM look important again for the first time in years. Again, all that hard work has been undone since.

I've only seen the Mask match, but it's really good, head and shoulders above everything else in 2009 that didn't include Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

All Jerichos work,Rey had no part in making any of the matchs look good. I'm sorry, but that is waaaaaay too harsh. Their styles just clicked and both men bought their A game producing some quality matches that were among of, if not the best, series of matches in the WWE that year. I'm not Rey's biggest fan either, but he more than did his share of the load in this feud, through both men's psychology throughout the series and him busting out bigger than usual moves. Regardless, it was awesome stuff, their match at the Bash in particular being fantastic.

Terrific feud.
Smackdown in 2009 was so good, for the most part.

3. Getting owned by Jericho (Especially liked the torture rack backbreaker spot they would always do) Yeah man I loved that spot! It reminded me of an old WCW video game where all the luchas would have these crazy spinning backbreakers. Jericho may live up to that man of 1004 holds moniker after all, he can bust out any move at anytime. (Hopes for Spinning Saskatchewan Nervehold WHEN Jericho comes back)
