I dislike the USA chants when no one in the ring is from there. However, I'll never forget when Jim Duggan tried to start a USA chant. In England.

Yes. Every foreigner is automatically a heel. It's why face versions of Jericho, Edge, Christian, Benoit all had to be billed from Tampa or Atlanta. Evil heel version......from Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal or Edmonton.

WWE still appeals to the blue collar worker for the most part. Not saying it's ALL fans but for the most part it's not the most educated group I disagree. People in the US have been indoctrinated to be very nationalist. It isn't education. Education is actually used in the public and college level as a tool to train people like dogs to think the US is a more moral and free country when it isn't true. What do you think the pledge of allegiance is for?

You want to see a crowd response with dubious implications, watch Harlem Heat vs. Steiners at Hog Wild 96 where Booker and Stevie are getting arguably the biggest heat of the night, and well, given the Sturgis crowd, I'm left to wonder.

It is just so easy to chant though. I admit, Duggan was the kinda guy who was so goofy, I couldn't help but like him.

The rich have everything to lose so they usually make the educated decision to shut and be politically correct. Whereas the lower class tends to just not give a crap.

Well interesting enough before road wild 97 Mark Madden pointed this out in a production meeting about how a crowd full of redneck bikers who have no knowledge of their product were going to boo the shit out Harlem Heat for obvious reasons. When the matched happened he was proven right.

The WWF/E Canada-USA feud in 1997, with Bret, and Austin, got pretty prejudice at some points. He took Canada's view on the USA, and took it over the top. US-Sucks chants were really common (in Canada) during that time period.

That is classic class warfare propaganda spread by different media outlets including Hollywood.

You realize poor/uneducated people who win the lottery tend to lose all their money right? They have no clue how to deal with it. People who are more highly educated tend to have more self control and discipline then those in the lower class. Being misinformed and uneducated tends to make people go towards people who are more "their kind" Look at prison where they are EXCLUSIVELY divided by race.

I think he's referring to when Benoit & Jericho,as faces, suddenly started being billed from Atlanta & Manhasset instead of Winnipeg & Edmonton.

Being misinformed and uneducated tends to make people go towards people who are more "their kind" Look at prison where they are EXCLUSIVELY divided by race. How do you know this? Can you prove it? I see a lot of stupid people who are "highly educated" all the time. Just because someone has a college degree or what not does not mean they are smart or not racist, or that they will manage to stay out of jail. Again it is classic class warfare that you are espousing. It is a myth. Is there not a ton of rich and smart people in jail for either drugs or not paying their taxes? Prisons are divided by race yes, but that is mainly due to prisons being overwhelmingly filled with black people who were discriminated against and targeted just because they were black. I don't agree with it but I can understand why they would fill the need not to trust white inmates. Smart does not automatically equal someone will be a success. I have known tons of people who are very book and street smart who struggle to hold on to jobs. Also dumb doesn't mean you are bad with money. There are a lot of racist who have managed to become rich. Being racist doesn't mean you are dumb. It means you are ignorant. There are CEOs of corporations who get fired or run their company into the ground all the time. They also get arrested.(seen Enron) Do you think they were "smart"?

They were babyfaces and according to Madden during the match N bombs were chanted and empty beer and whiskey bottles were thrown at them.

I could SWEAR the audio is either dubbed over with bike noise or muted out when this happens, but I think there are a couple of N-bombs thrown around by the crowd during that match. It was almost like a Sex Pistols concert, really. You had to fear for Booker/Stevie Ray's safety in that environment. Things could have gotten VERY ugly.

Is that racist?
Perhaps the crowd is booing because few of them speak Spanish, and so have no idea what's going on. They do the same to Rey Mysterio when he starts randomly speaking Spanish.

It was almost like a Sex Pistols concert, really. You had to fear for Booker/Stevie Ray's safety in that environment. Things could have gotten VERY ugly. I really think those are just rumors. I've heard bike week in Sturgis isn't near as rough and crazy as people think. The Hell's Angels usually don't even attend it. Bikers have had a reputation in the past for being racist but that was only because practically the entire nation was racist in the 50s and 60s. The 50s have this false propagandic revisionist message of being very wholesome yet people forget the fact that the majority of the people in the U.S. were very racist all over the country at the time. Bikers wearing Nazi stuff isn't really a racist thing either. The Hell's Angel's started that trend just because they knew they would piss people off by doing it. Lemmy from Motorhead for example has a huge collection of Nazi paraphernalia. He doesn't collect it because he is racist(he isn't), it's because it became a big trend among bikers in the 50s and 60s to wear it to piss regular people off. I go to concerts all the time here in middle America and see older bands that bikers go to and they aren't racist at all. Rowdy? Hell yeah but not racist.

I do remember the match between Barrett and Gabriel on NXT where the fans started cheering 'USA'. They tried to cover it by saying that they were cheering for Matt Hardy at ringside. Guess that's better PR than to say your audience are both ignorant and incredibly forgetful.
