Insta-feud with Punk. Make it regular Coca-Cola to complete conflict with CM Punk's Diet Pepsi. Well, Punk said it wasn't his diet soda on Twitter that Cena knocked over. Usually on RAW you can catch a Diet Coke can near Lawler's side of the table.

Not saying I don't believe Jerry, but how do you then explain some of the stuff that happened in Memphis during his time there? Christmas Creature, Nightmare Freddy? Note: I am just joking. I actually do believe him. Nobody said Jerry Jarrett wasn't on drugs. To answer those that mentioned him spitting it on Jake, I think it was when he poured it on Jake, and not when he spit it that Jake was talking about. That's not to say when he spit it, that it wasn't but I know I've heard JR say on more than one occasion that alcohol has never touched King's lips. I do have to say, if I remember correctly from King's autobiography that he said one of the reasons that he always stuck to being sober was that when all the boys would go out after matches, all the other guys would be getting with women that required beer goggles to bang, or would be so drunk that they passed out, while he would be coherent and in his right mind to where he would always get the hottest girl in place to go home with him. And judging by the women that I have seen with King, he seems to have the right idea.

Triple H doesn't drink, apparently. I'm not 100% sure, but this looks like an alcoholic beverage in Hunter's hand:

Lawler was straight edge before straight edge was cool.

This kind of reminds me of (even though I am not at all a fan) Gene Simmons. Apparently he has never touched alcohol or drugs either. I read an interview where he talked about eating candy before shows, which I thought was kind of endearing actually.
Then again, much like Lawler and Punk, any potential straight edge ends at the the bedroom door.
That's fine with me though. More power to all concerned!

I would imagine it is true about Lawler. I heard him mention this many years ago.
Edit: I don't mean to say that Lawler identifies himself as "straight edge," only that he never has consumed alcohol, smoked, or used drugs.

I highly doubt that Jerry Lawler is involved with the punk or hardcore culture, so no. He is not straight edge.
Guys. Seriously. Being sober and being straight edge are NOT the same thing.

Jerry Lawler is his generation's CM Punk in pretty much everything it seems; the great heel work, great on the stick, ring pyschology, demi-god status in one area of the country, sober living, coke/pepsi love

Depends on who you ask as is most of the straight edge movement. The punk scene is where it's grown out so it has the connections but it also took on a hipster-esque feel in the early 00s

It's been common knowledge in Memphis for many years that Lawler never drank or used drugs. My dad was a jobber there in the 70's and mentioned that he always felt safer riding with Lawler because he was about the only one of the boys not to get a case of beer for the endless rides back and forth between Louisville, Nashville, and Memphis.
In contrast, it's also been common knowledge that Lawler has a weakness for attractive, and particularly, young women. He was routinely known for picking up girls in the hotel bars that appeared to be underage, and everybody kept warning him that it would get him in serious trouble.
It did cost him 3 longterm relationships(his 2 wives, Kay and Paula, and Kat-was he ever really married to her?) and arguably hurt him in his run for Mayor of Memphis. He was an early front runner when his opponents started bringing up his sexual indiscretions. He ended up finishing in the middle of a crowded field.
Overall, Lawler is probably not much different from most people on a moral level. Everyone has their issues and he is no exception. He has managed to stay in shape, despite never doing formal weight training.
