Besides, the people in the title picture or guys really low on the card, like JTG, I can't really tell who is "officially" Raw or Smackdown.
How many times over the past year have you seen guys appear on the other show? Also, for no reason, guys can easily switch brands in the middle of the show.

People say "that's just cause it's Wrestlemania season" but it's not. Brand switching and all that nonsense happen year round now so I think the draft is absolutely pointless unless they're going to do it like the first year or two where people stick to their brand and can't switch. (They won't)

Yeah, talent has been appearing on both shows WAY before WrestleMania season.

It IS just because it's Wrestlemania season. By Backlash, expect all feuds to be between guys on the same brand. And when the draft season comes around, expect to see more Smackdown stars on RAW to build up their new feuds, and to build up the draft.
From the draft until Royal Rumble season, any cross-brand action will be treated like a special occasion, unless its just jobbers filling jobber spots.

Pointless? Probably.
But I still want another draft. Draft night Raw is usually one of the Raws with the most matches in the entire year. That's something I'm thankful for.

yeah, the only point of the draft is to put on as many free matches as possible at this point

This happens every time in the build up to Wrestlemania. Come Extreme Rules, it's gonna be back to normal.
