I understand wanting to call wrestlers "sports entertainers." I can buy that. What I can't buy, though, is having a belt ONLY be a "title" and fans only being "the WWE universe." What the hell is wrong with calling a belt a belt, and why am I in some alternate universe? Will the Skrulls take over?

Wrestlers doing promos in the ring while wearing trunks and a t-shirt This, more than anything drives me crazy. It looks stupid. One of the things that I think helps get guys over is showing them in regular clothes. Think Ric Flair in suits, Austin in a T-shirt and Jeans. These helped get the personality of the wrestler over more. The Miz and Jericho are the only two who recently have not worn the "standard attire".

Avoiding the term "wrestling" or "wrestler" despite the fact 99.9% of WWE's business originates from both.
The term "WWE Universe"
The amount of commercial interruptions of matches on Monday Night Raw
On-air burials

- I love cradles, so it annoys the hell outta me when people go for a straight lateral press and don't hook the legs, grab the tights, anything to get some sort of leverage. Just laying on the guy (or girl) seems kinda half-assed.
- People interrupting a match with their theme or pyro. Not that it's done, but that it's not done enough. If you're gonna interrupt a match, but you aren't actually gonna get involved, just have your entrance do the work for you. I loved when Kane used to do that; his pyro would just come out of nowhere and he wouldn't even have to appear, 'cause the guy's game was thrown off and he pretty much couldn't get it back. Aside from 'Taker, I can't think of anyone who does that anymore.
- Keeping with the topic of what they don't do enough, there aren't enough fights on-screen. Yeah, there are matches and such, but one of the awesome things about the Attitude Era and shortly after was two people who legitimately didn't like each other didn't wait to get a match to get their hands on each other.
And, of course, I second (or third, or whatever) the whole "going for a move you'd never do, so someone can do their signature" deal. Although, people cutting promos in their tights does work when it's something their character would do, same thing with being all smiles.

1. every match where John Cena has been worked on for like 20m to the moment he springs up SMILING hand in the air..... 2. the way the Miz says the word Championship...its like SHHHHAMPEONSSHIP...i dunno...it annoys me. *and i'm glad he switched to tights 3. Shawn Michael's weird eye that wasn't like that a few years ago. not his fault, and i kayfabe blame Jericho 4. Evan Bourne's dual peace signs. 5. Kofi going "boom boom boom" after the match like 45 times. after the 10th time it's like 'ok, you won, leave'. 6. Randy Orton smiling at any time. 7. anything Rey Mysterio 619 related. that's been covered pretty well. 8. Alberto Del Rio saying destiny. i'm sick of hearing it. and i like the guy. 9. all Canadian wrestlers saying Aboot instead of about. i know it's a cultural thing, and some aren't as bad, but it still can kill a promo for me. (sorry to any Canadians on the board) 10. Zack Ryder's new trunks. 11. King going "woo-hoo!" there are more, i'm going to stop.

- I don't mind the big-ass 'Mania sign, but do we really need every wrestler and their grandmother pointing at it multiple times during Raw or SmackDown?
- The exorbant amount of commercial breaks on Raw. Match, followed by break halfway through, end of match, segment, more ad break. Segment, ad break. Another short match, ad break.

How signature moves are so so scripted in matches. This goes back to Hulk Hogan's "Hulk up" when every single opponent would go to the motion leading to a leg drop. Same with Cena. Why must EVERYBODY go for a swinging punch!?!? Don't they watch the same matches we do? 99% of the time, John Cena will duck and do a swinging backdrop. Same for Rey Mysterio (stop falling onto the middle rope damn it!!) and HHH (back body drop anybody?) This is why I dig Bret Hart's comebacks. He had his 5 moves of doom, but it wasn't a "routine" where he does this move, then the dude gets up and throws a shitty punch and Bret does that move, then while he's down he does a gesture/gyration then does the next move. WWE comebacks in general are freakin lame.

Commercial breaks in matches.
How many UFC fights have you ever seen with a commercial during a round? How many boxing matches have you seen with a commercial during a round?

-Guys getting title shots when they didn't earn them. It's more of a TNA thing, but it bugs me in wrestling.
-The hard on for Sports Entertainment, entertainers, entertaineverything.
-Small packages winning lots of matches, the most devestating move ever. Though, it's good sometimes.
-Ref bumps, but that's more TNA. And again, it's ok if it's done once in awhile.
-Thankfully, WWE has gotten rid of handicap matches, those were just frequent and awful.
-The death of tag team wrestling in WWE.
-They turned Kofi Kingston's "bo" into "boom".
-Lack of strong heels, especially in the midcard.

The fact that the refs now have to count pinfalls and such as if they didn't know the outcome. I mean if the match is supposed to end on the pinfall he's counting, ignore the MINOR amount of the shoulder that most people can't even see and just count the damn pin! It's awkward seeing a school boy get a 7 count.
That and that the commentators make no sense anymore and that most of them now all say that they're friends with random people. Ex. why does Josh Matthews have to be "good friends with Brodus Clay?" Even if it's true, it's random and odd.
Edit: Can't forget Ted DiBiase Jr.'s ridiculous "guy turns around clothesline" considering no one ever turns around like that unless Ted's doing the move.

The hot tag forumula for tag matches. It's just so predictable, shake things up a bit WWE!
Celebrity appearences taking up time that could be used to develop a wrestler rather than letting some D-Lister shill their latest book/dvd/movie/cd/tv series.
Lack of managers.
Wrestler's getting shafted with the stupid Paydirt STO move which never looks good.
Likewise with the overdrive.
