I thought it was funny when he won and he said he said that he a Truth have had so many shenanigans, none of which I can't remember seeing. I remember they argued or something, and they chatted in the lockeroom a few times, but honestly they had the least amount of chemistry out of all the rookie/pro pairings.
That being said, I like Johnny Curtis. While I agree he hasn't displayed a lot of charisma, you could see just below the surface that he is a funny guy. Bateman is so much more bombastic that you notice when he is funny, but Curtis is a much more understated. You have to pay more attention to catch what Curtis is doing, the only thing is I'm not sure that will work in the WWE.

Byron Saxton: "Truth thinks you have a big ego."
Johnny Curtis: "I HEARD RUMORS SAYING THAT YOU THINK I HAVE A BIG EGO."
R-Truth: "Nope."
............
That's it. That was all he gave us. Brodus should have won if Bateman wasn't.

I picked Johnny Curtis to win it early on. I don't think it was a bad choice.

I feel he tries too hard to be 'quirky'. His shortcomings were very noticeable when he was around Bateman, who I felt was naturally charismatic.

SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Brodus would've fallen apart in the 'E. He'd have either gotten kicked back to FCW or outright fired the first time he seriously injured someone with his clumsiness or he would've just disappeared from TV altogether once the bookers were tired of giving him short squash matches to hide his utter lack of everything.

Brodus isn't great, but he seems like he will have a niche carved out for him the second he gets called up. Bodyguard, midcard monster, what have you - and he has a distinct persona.
Curtis seemed to struggle to find a persona that clicked. Citten can vouch for his persona in FCW, but WWE creative doesn't seem to see anything in him except "high-flying pretty boy." And he's not as pretty or as spectacular as John Morrison. So it's a case of, regardless of his talent, can WWE Creative use him in a way that makes him stand out? SD could use a midcard face, but Curtis is going to Raw to team with Truth.
In sum: Creative has shown that they know how to use Brodus and Bateman. They haven't shown that they know how to use Curtis.

The biggest problem he has is the lack of a gimmick. He needs to bring back germophobic-latex-gloves-Curtis. He had that gimmick for what, 3 months? Three months of that does not justify him being considred as good as he was. Especially considering that he's done nothing that can be considered above before and after that heel run. In FCW, mediocrity = awesome because there's so much shit down there

of course they love bland. just look at Blandy Orton. To be a company supposedly about personality they sure are dropping the ball with going with 'guys who have the look' but not what it takes, which is a charisma beyond that look

The fans picked Curtis. I'd like to believe that. But, I can't fully. They were going with him all along. Plus, Bateman should have atleast been in the top two. If it was fan voted, they swayed it heavily by having Brodus Clay up there against him.

I hope Johnny Curtis succeeds in the WWE. He seems like a good guy and he's a great athlete.

And if not him, Saxton would have been their second choice for his looks. Curtis has been in developmental since 2006. He's not their first choice on anything. Saying he was their pre-show pick is like saying Lucky Cannon was the guy they wanted to win on season 2.

Since then he's returned to being shitty.

He was tied with O'Brien

Johnny Curtis - I am just saying it seemed vanilla plain out there, when you look at it from the entertainment aspect. He had the best gimmick of them all:
