He just did the Emerald Flowsion to Riley and released early. He does it on his vertical suplex. A lot of time when he does the AA he's not touching his opponent by the end of the move.
Why do you think he does that?

That makes it less of a slam and more of a free-fall. It eases the pain I guess.

That makes it less of a slam and more of a free-fall. It eases the pain I guess. But wouldn't that also be more dangerous. Granted I haven't seen it. But I don't think a free fall drop is a better option than a controlled plant.

Its his style. Kind of like how Rock would do moves really fast and sloppy and pop the crowd with it. Its why people say he cant wrestle or he's "unorthodox". It does give him somewhat of a klutzy backyarder/turned Superstar vibe.

He did it last week to Truth and there are some vids of his using it in his Protype days. Of course his version varies from Misawa's but it was cool to see something new in his arsenal. Maybe he'll bust out a Tiger Driver '91.
