Thank god he got out while he can still walk, class act, great wrestler and was a part of one of my favorite autograph signings ever when I met him at Fun Time USA and got to take an elevator with him on his 28th Birthday.
I also was there live when he won the KOTR and he sure didn't Billy Gunn it.

The first time I turned on RAW, Edge was the first person I saw. It was when he had the red cast on his hand, so since day one, he's been one of my favorites.

I'm glad he's retiring. I wouldn't want him to end up like Dynamite Kid.

What annoys me about this..... They supposedly "knew" about this earlier in the evening, and they've been promoting his speech since before Raw started, yet they had to wait until *after* the speech to "confirm" it? Sounds to me like they wanted to make sure the retirement angle wasn't a work first, then raced to their computers to be the first to report on it. If they really did know it, why didn't they say something in the nearly TWO HOUR window they had saying "The retirement angle they're promoting isn't a work"? EDIT: Don't mean to be disrespectful, but to me, it's disrespectful for the dirtsheets to hop all over the Edge story to generate more web hits.

This is so weird. Today sucks for wrestling fans. Seriously! I need to go do something to cheer myself up. What a s***ty day.

Are fans so f***ing paranoid that they don't believe anything anymore? Get over yourselves and show him some respect, gosh.

I oddly feel a small sense of satisfaction in this.
Don't get me wrong.,..I think it's a terrible loss to see Edge gone, and I'll miss him terribly whether he's being the grimy heel, fantastic tactician, or bona-fide main eventer that he became.
But a part of me is happy that he got to go on his own terms. I know that retiring due to injury isn't his own term, but knowing what he's put himself through now, I want nothing more than for Edge to stay away from the ring. By all means, let him contribute when he can to the product (he's always seen more than eager), but Edge never struck me as a guy who was going to stick around 20 years past his prime and try to make a cheap buck selling his autograph for a crowd of 50 people.
Here is somebody who had one dream: Become a WWE Superstar and he did it. Ideally, he would have had a few more years but we got to see Edge come from his neck injury and achieve the one goal he always strived for: Main eventer. And damn it, he achieved it.
If by any chance this is a work, great..it made us appreciate a talent that was so amazing, he managed to make the psychotic beatdown of a laptop entertaining. And for that (among a million other reasons), I'll always appreciate him.
So I hope Edge does enjoy his ice cream and gets to sit back and enjoy the success he's achieved. He's left a legacy many would kill for, and got to go out as Champion in the number one wrestling organization in the world. Not bad for a scrawny kid from Canada.
