Wouldn't it have made more sense to use Sheamus. He's been on a winning streak, is the US champ, and is a big, physical force.
Hell, almost anyone could be in R-Truth's spot!

Given that Truth's only real role was supposed to be competing for tag team championships with Johnny Curtis, yeah, I think he took Morrison's spot. Well I guess we know who the biggest loser here is.

Morrison didn't have a spot to take. Ding ding ding. Listen, I love JoMo and think his improvement in the ring has been awesome over the last few years. He's technically ready to be in these matches. All that said, dude better find a personality or the ability to cut a promo ASAP or he'll never advance. Forget heat, he has problems he has to work out on his own. This isn't NEWZ or anything, just my hunch. I've always thought they were going to do Miz/Morrison at the Rumble when John won the #1 contender match, but when he cut those two AWFUL back to back promos, suddenly the match was on Raw the next week and he got beat and that was the end of that push. John needs to improve himself so he has a spot for someone to take.

I must also saythat with Edge retiring the WWE might have panicked a bit and thrust R Truth into a main event programme to see if he has what it really takes to be a main event face. I expect Christian and yes, even John Morrison to get similar pushes in the coming months.

I don't understand why they shaft Morrison so much. He got heat for not taking action for the Batista/Melina stuff, and yet when he does take action in standing up for his girlfriend at Mania this year, he gets heat for that too? It's pretty much a lose-lose situation for him regardless to what he does for himself.
Despite how great he is, honestly I think he has a better shot at succeeding in TNA than in the WWE. He had a chance to really shine this year and they never just go with it. He's over and has tremendous skill.
R-Truth? Really? Triple threat for the WWE title? Get out of here. Don't even embarrass the title with his name in the same sentence as it.

I really don't get how R-Truth would be "an embarrassment" to the WWE Title. The man was a former NWA World Champion. If he's good enough for that belt, he's good enough for the WWE Title.

I am still really, really confused about what the hell I just watched at the end of that episode.
I just.
What.
R-Truth makes absolutely no freakin' sense.

Seriously, I wanted to see him win out just so they'd be shut up and all credibility destroyed. If he was getting in trouble for heat, they wouldn't have (A) Had him show up in the opening segment or (B) Even been in the match at all.

I'm not even that much on a R-Truth fan but I have a hard time comprehending this entitlement complex people are showing. People whine about superstars never being able to break the glass ceiling and how only Cena and Orton get to hog the main even, and when someone is finally given a chance it suddenly become "You picked the wrong person!" Truth is solid in ring, yeah his rapping is annoying but he's hardly going to be a "detriment" to the Triple Threat match.

Don't even embarrass the title with his name in the same sentence as it. 1. There is absolutley no evidence to suggest John Morrison is in the 'doghouse' for his recent actions. 2. He's in the exact same postion he was in months ago. Its not like he's had a Swaggeresque fall in relevance. 3. R Truth is a good worker, is over with the crowd, and deserves a shot at a main event title match as much as anyone who has gotten one in the last year. Not saying this is your logic exactly, but I hate this kind of logic I descibe below, which is what your post reminds me of: 'WWE is boring. When will they push new guys to the main event? GAH NOT HIM. NO I want the guy I WANT to be in the main event. Anyone else is a disgrace'

The Miz all but called him a dumbass during the match, always messing up his opportunities. Sounded a bit real there.

If you want to send a message, you still have to not cut off your nose to spite your face. I don't know how legit the heat stories are or anything, but it wouldn't be the first time on either account.

Well Masters was slated for a huge push after Mania so technically R Truth took his spot.

He's toast and locked in mid-card hell. Morrison got the pinfall the night after WM and they portrayed his loss to Truth as a borderline fluke (as they did for Ziggler).

Part of me feels like only Cena would have won, but they threw Truth in there so it would seem like Morrison ruined his push.

I don't know, it definitely came out of no where. Sheamus wasn't even on Raw tonight either. But yeah, I think Truth deserves a shot, he's got talent. He just needs to drop the raping gimmick.

When someone you don't like is getting a push, of course you are going to complain about it. No one's ever said let anyone be in the main event other than Cena or Orton. So when WWE puts someone mediocre in the ring, and annoying on the mic in the main event at a PPV, of course people will whine.
