On paper Kane seems like a sure thing. He's big, he can talk, he has great presence, and he's not half-bad in the ring either.
So how did he end up being probably one of the most jerked-around wrestlers this side of Mark Henry?
It almost seems like he's been assigned his own personal booking team that does nothing all day but dream up terrible storylines to stick him in.

He's one of those guys who never really wanted the World title or anything, he's just happy to be there. So, I don't think he really cares about the daft storylines either, probably just has fun with it.

The same can be said for Abyss in TNA... I guess they really are one in the same

The crazy thing about Kane is that even though he's a monster, so to speak, all the jerking around they've done with him makes him extremely sympathetic, in a way.

You can't book someone as an unstoppable monster for 10+ years. Thats why Kane and Show are pretty much always in the same spot and go through so many heel and face turns. It gets old if they never lose.

Kane and Nicolas Cage are quite similar in one regard, they never say no to a project.

Kane has a really bizarre charisma. There's probably no one else in WWE who could (in the course of one year) go from underdog Money in the Bank winner, to dominant face champ, to super heel who beats the Undertaker in multiple gimmick matches, to super over face tag team champ.
As much as I'd love Kane to always be at the top of the card, he does pretty well for himself and the crowd either loves or hates him, depending on what role he's playing.
