Not that I want to see anyone lose there jobs, but it seems like the inevitable "spring cleaning" has taken quite a while, especially since after the earnings report from a little while ago. Any thoughts on if/when releases will happen?

I'll say the sweeping will start to pick up in mid-June at the earliest.

Maybe not at all due to the roster being kind of thin. Some big money will be freed up once Edge's contract runs out, I imagine.

They've shifted the contracts of Batista, Jericho, Hardy and MVP in the last twelve months, that alone would probably save them more than cutting a half dozen jobbers.
EDIT: Plus I'd spose they'd get money from Edge's insurance?

Honestly, WWE have saved quite a bit on their main event talent over the last year. Since Mania '26, they've "cut costs" on two major stars (Edge & Batista), 2 big-name Divas (Michelle & Mickie) and they're not expecting to have to pay Undertaker stupid amounts for his traditional summer slaughter of an upcoming heel. Maybe 3 NXT rookies, 2 former tag guys and a Diva in a pear tree.

EDIT: Plus I'd spose they'd get money from Edge's insurance? Also got rid of HBK and who knows if HHH earns as much backstage as he did as a performer. There are probably others who were released that add onto this. They likely won't have a major sweep like in previous years as they don't need to and can't afford to lose anymore TV characters.

With all this new younger CHEAPER talent, I would think the WWE is saving a ton, so these releases wouldn't be as big or as urgent as previous years.
Honestly, who really is a big time money earner right now?
HHH Taker Orton Christian Cena Mysterio Big Show
I would think those are the only big money contracts right now and maybe Kane as well.

Maybe not at all due to the roster being kind of thin. This. It may not look that way when not everyone is getting TV time, but the roster right now is actually quite small. There are only 58 males on it as of right now, and that's including long-term inactives like Undertaker, Triple H, Sheffield, Tarver, Harris and Curtis.

I said it before, but FCW might change more than the main roster.

I think the roster is just too thin at this point. They're probably going to try a few guys for "one last shot" at getting over. Perhaps with Kydd now being paired with Michael Hayes is their way of trying to get him over one last time before releasing him later in the year if it's not successful. They have a TON of young guys right now who, given the right amount of TV time, may get over and start gearing for future main-eventer status.

Hey, maybe they won't cut anyone. And if that's the case, THQ better do a good job.

it's only been a few weeks after the draft but as stated I don't think as many people will go. if you don't see Tyler Reks on superstars soon, his 1 or 2 fans might have to get worried. wait.... Tyler Reks have any fans?
