- While it's not official yet, the internal thought within WWE is that The Undertaker is basically retired, which explains Michelle McCool leaving to spend more time with him at home.
The Observer reports that The Undertaker is in far worse physical shape than is being let on. WWE officials aren't ruling Taker out for WrestleMania 28 in 11 months but don't expect him to work another match before then. People close to Taker have talked to him about retiring at WrestleMania 28 with his streak at 20-0.

This isn't surprising at all, but it's still kind of sad to read about it. Wrestlemania after next year is going to be really weird without either Taker or HBK wrestling on the show anymore.

Can't say this is a bad thing, I think 'Taker is being held together by bubblegum and duct tape by this point.

Good.
I don't want 'Taker to keep wrestling to the point where he ends up in a wheelchair.

Good. I don't want 'Taker to keep wrestling to the point where he ends up in a wheelchair. Same, and I do believe he should officially retire after his streak hits 20-0.

I expected this to be the case. He deserves to hang up the boots for good, even though it will be weird not seeing him around anymore.

It is sad. I will miss Taker. But I want Him to see a comfortable retirement.

I think retiring next year would be a good idea, but they could hold off with Rock/Cena being on the crowd, and have it happen at 29 or 30 if he wants two years off.
But, if he can't go anymore... that's two "last matches" at Mania 27, and Taker/HHH would be a high note to retire for sure.

Had to end sometime. This summer is my 20th anniversary of watching WWF/E and Taker has been there from day one. Truly the end of an era

This is for the best, really. He and McCool may want to start a family at some point. It would be kinda sad, if you think about it, for him to be too brittle to give his kids piggy back rides.

Does that even need newz sites reporting it? Doesn't it really go without saying that a guy his age who can barely wrestle anymore whose wife left the company is practically finished wrestling?

INSIDE SCOOP: The plan is for Randy Orton to be the top face on Smackdown.

Not surprising but sad none the less.
Granted I don't see much changing as Taker hasn't really been full time in ages.

He should've retired awhile ago, for his own sake.

Undertaker vs Triple H vs Shawn Michaels
This should be his 20-0 match.
It makes perfect sense.

I'm wondering if he'll come back for 20-0. If not, then it was definitely a great career.
