Did Gorilla Monsoon ever comment on the attitude era before he died? In particular on the rise of Austin and Rock, and the Montreal screwjob?

Not that I ever remember hearing. Other then his appearance at WM XV I don't really remember ever hearing his name come up

I know this isn't really what you asked, but hee color commentated on the international version of Superstars in 1998. There's some matches with him commentating with Cole and Dr. Tom Pritchard on YouTube.

Yup, he kinda just makes general comments like "x and x really don't like each other!" but man is it odd hearing Monsoon's voice while the Godfather and the ho's are in the ring.

He had a subtle heel vibe going from the attitude-era clips ive seen of him. If Gorilla was in better health i can see him being one of mcmahon's "stooges".

Just found some YouTube footage from the International version of Shotgun Saturday Night with the aforementioned announce team of Michael Cole, Dr. Tom Pritchard and Gorilla Monsoon. The match is Jacqueline vs. Starla Saxton, but I enjoyed this little pre-match exchange the most:
COLE: ...Kane taking a chair to the Undertaker's head. A little trouble in paradise in that family!
PRITCHARD: Well, obviously, there is trouble in paradise. Kane wants to be the champion just as much as his brother!
GORILLA: So much for Brotherly Love, right?
PRITCHARD: I know nothing about that!
GORILLA: Yes you do!
Ha! I miss Geno!

I think he would have done well as a stooge or anti-stooge character in the attitude era. Monsoon announced some of the more ridiculous "sports entertainment" moments of the 80s, he understood that part of the business. This wasn't Gordon Solie or Verne Gagne.
