THe problem with Steiner in WWE was that he was too tightly scripted (or one of the problems: the other seemed to be that he was in bad cardio shape and that we was put in there with HHH who wasn't at his best at the time). If you look at his backstage promos, you can tell that an agent has had him rehearse it and script it to the letter so it takes all the life out of the ones he did in WCW, which were throwbacks in my mind to the 1980s type of wrestling promo, which I loved.
It was like Vince had cut his balls off.
