What are your thoughts on him? I always thought he was a great worker saddled with bad gimmicks, though I did enjoy Johnny B. Badd.

What I've always wanted to know is why Foley hates him so much...

I didn't like his look and character until around 1998 when he was with Jacqueline, but by that time injuries limited him. When he was healthy he was pretty good in the ring. He was never the best talker. His 'Wild Thing' finish looked really good at times and his Merosault (especially the Moonsault Press version) looked really good too.

I never got all the hate either. I believe Foley, but he always seemed fine to me

What I've always wanted to know is why Foley hates him so much... I think it was mostly issues with Marc's ex-wife Rena. I'm pretty sure in one of his last two books, Foley mentioned that he has no beef with Mero (just that he thought he was over-paid, compared to Foley and Steve Austin) and offered somewhat of an apology.

That's the whiny guy that threw professional wrestling under the bus after the Benoit tragedy, right? The one that innovated the TKO? I like that move. Heard Brock Lesnar's banging his wife now. That is the extent of my opinion on Marc Mero.

I don't really have thoughts on him. He's like Mongo to me; I don't know who he is, and I don't really care to go out of my way to. So he innovated the TKO; not that there's anything wrong with it, but I can name more than a dozen moves I find more impressive WITHOUT naming aerial moves like the SSP. No offense to Mero, of course, but I don't really find him all that memorable.

I really liked him actually, and love his 'Attitude Era' look. He was a good worker too. I certainly did lose respect for him after the Benoit incident though.

I'm still in shock that Mero isn't black but, a Jewish guy with a good tan.

I thought he was pretty talented, though it surprised me to find out that he was the same wrestler as Johnny B. Badd several years later. I never understood Foley's problem with Mero; it wasn't his fault that he got an agent who could get him a better contract. I thought Foley came off as really jealous and bigheaded when he talked about Mero.

I liked Mero, especially as Marvellous Marc during the Attitude Era.

I thought he showed great personality with the heel character, and would have been a solid mid card IC guy around that time. He possibly could have even been in one of those "filler" PPV main events for the title around that time. Better personality than 95% of the current roster of hich 25% have been world champ.

I'm still in shock that Mero isn't black but, a Jewish guy with a good tan. So true. In his ROH Shoot he even mentioned being interviewed during the time some racial lawsuits against WCW was happening and the reporter as his opinion since he was black. BTW he didn't invent the TKO, it was a Diamond Cutter variant DDP did a few times and Mero asked if he could use it For the Benoit thing, I actually don't think it had much to do with getting his name out there as it did him seeing a lot of friends dying and wanting to speak out.

I liked him. A talented wrestler, decent on the mic, who just happened to be overshadowed by Sable.
He never had a good character to work with.
