Me and my Brother was talking about edge's last appearance and the conversation goes.
Me:"Yea they did the 5 second pose on Smackdown." Bro:"Edge was on Smackdown?" Me:"Well, yea, he was a Smackdown Superstar." Bro:".......Did you just call him a Superstar?"
And I realized it the second I said it, its starting to happen, Vince mind controlling techniques are starting to come through. I'll start calling it entertainment soon, 17 years as a wrestling fan is laughing at me in shame.

To be fair, superstar is pretty widely used. It's not too bad a branding in itself.

I have to agree with Lizuka. Besides, SmackDown Superstar rolls off the tongue better than SmackDown Wrestler.

I honestly think its my paranoia from all this change going around that I don't want to fall into this whole re-branding thing the E is doing. The fact that I checked myself after saying it is pretty bonkers.

It's okay. It's when everyone starts instinctively calling the show an "action soap opera" that we should get nervous.

You sure you didn't say sOOperstar? Because if so, there's still hope.

Just think, there's a whole generation of young kids right now watching WWE for the first time and this is the only terminology they know. This is what they'll be saying their whole lives, and anyone who says differently is just a stubborn old fart

From what I can tell, they've been calling them "superstars" since at least 1995.

That is the most disgraceful display in the history of the WWE Universe.

As far as I'm concerned, "wrestler" and "superstar" are interchangeable.
