Michelle Mccool is better than Melina anyway. In terms of what? As far as actual wrestling acumen goes, I'll question that. Melina came back from injury with plenty of sloppy matches, but that was because she clearly wasn't ready yet rather than anything else. Now that she's wrestling regularly again, her in-ring track record is pretty much back up to what it was before. Then there's all the years from before her injury with match after match after match that she worked that turned out to be good, particularly PPV outings. Most people COMPLETELY ignore these when discussing her wrestling skills, instead choosing to rip into her because she had some bad matches because she was prematurely brought back from injury. And for what? They brought her back prematurely to job her out to Laycool so they could unify the titles. How's that her fault? Alicia was never supposed to be a dominant wrestler. She was a pawn who got sacrificed to a tool who in turn got used to put two other people over. The irony is that Melina's got one of the best track records of any woman on the current roster for putting people over, considering how prominently she's been featured. Michelle breezed through Natalya in 2008 to become the first Divas champion. Then she lost to Maryse, but this was only so she could turn heel and then be the dominant heel on Smackdown after beating Melina in a feud. Michelle "put over" Mickie James in a title match, and then won the belt back shortly thereafter like nothing happened. Similarly is what happened with Beth Phoenix. Then Melina comes back from injury and loses another feud to Michelle. Then Michelle loses to Natalya in one of several PPV matches, and loses a throwaway tag PPV match featuring Beth (who then is relegated to jobbing to McCool and rarely shows up on TV now). She then shoehorns her way back into the title picture and only fails to capture the title because of a fluke where Eve got the pin (and it was presented that she got cheated out of winning the belt from rolling up Nattie). So she loses to Snooki at WM. Big deal. She at least got a WM paycheck. Melina got fed to Candice back in 2007, and was regularly the fourth-tier diva on Raw up until 2008. In 2009 she beat Beth for the Women's title, but lost a feud to Michelle. She came back to Raw later that year to defeat Jillian (who was playing a non-serious character) and was in fact supposed to lose the title to Maryse to put her over (this was CLEARLY where it was going; why else do you think they brought her and Eve to Raw when she had no more programs to work other than the Maryse feud?). Then she comes back from injury and beats Alicia, who as I mentioned, was a pawn to the feud where Melina dropped the belts to Laycool. Then she turned heel, and right after she does, she puts over Natalya, after which Michelle shows back up like she owns the place. And then Melina puts Eve over a few times on TV. No no, she's not getting buried. But most of the women on the roster definitely don't suffer from one-sided booking in their favor, and she falls into the same group as the majority of the divas (booked well, also puts people over regularly). Then there's the fact that Melina has become easily one of the more popular divas on the roster, while despite all that Michelle has done, has never really been that over with the audience. As for physical appearance, personal opinion on this board is irrelevant since the majority opinion of the fans decides who has greater sex appeal. On this board, Michelle is more popular in that vein. On some place like Diva Dirt, it's the opposite case. As for the fans as a whole? Melina would rank somewhere above Michelle, although still well below someone like Kelly Kelly or, when she was still around, Maria. A potential response would be that I'm saying all of this because I'm a Melina fan. That would be incorrect. Things like this are largely why I'm so apt to defend her on this board. Look up late 2006 when I first started doing this because of the blatant double standard (if you can find my posts, I do indeed use that justification at that time) that she suffered from (people attempting to invalidate her with "Monkey" comments; almost never bringing up her proven wrestling ability--whether you find her to be the best wrestler or not the best wrestler, can we agree that she's at least proficient in the ring compared to most divas--despite her performance in previous events up to that point; or remember in early 2007 when people here accused her of ATTEMPTING TO KILL MICKIE JAMES IN THE RING?). Point is, I really dislike double standards, and of all the wrestlers who are on the roster right now, she is without a doubt one of the several who get the worst treatment of it. This is by no means an affront to Michelle McCool as a performer, a wrestler, or even how she looks. I'm just offering an alternative perspective on this board, because I think that it's one that very rarely shows up.

I love how people always leave out the reason Mickie dropped the title back to Michelle so quickly was because she had Staph infection.

Youre awfully dismissive of the circumstances surrounding McCool in 2010.
For one, she lost to Mickie James on PPV in 20 seconds. That was a squash on the level of Honky Tonk/Warrior. And with Beth, she lost the belt clean, and they only gave it back because Beth blew her knee out. The co champions angle was to sell LayCool as a proper team, and to phase out the Womens title.
Not to mention she was in the 3 best Divas matches of the year (Beth/McCool Extreme Rules, LayCool/Bethalya TLC, Mickie/McCool Smackdown)
Im not denying McCool has had some favouritism, but she has undeniably upped her game, and is easily the 3rd best in the company behind Beth and Nattie. She deserves her spot.

But she called Mickie fat! I honestly think a lot of people here hate McCool for Piggy James. Mickie was a favourite round that time, and people responded in hilariously hypocritical fashion by making McRib/Skeletor jokes at McCools expense.

I love how people always leave out the reason Mickie dropped the title back to Michelle so quickly was because she had Staph infection. If it was so pressing to find a replacement champion given those circumstances (which are indeed true), why did they wait so long? Same goes for Beth's injury. Im not denying McCool has had some favouritism, but she has undeniably upped her game. As a wrestler, sure. As for something like micwork, I disagree, because she has been given opportunity after opportunity to talk and other divas who are more charismatic and talented as speakers aren't allowed to ever talk.

How on earth did this turn into another thread about whether or not McCool deserves her spot? Can't we get back to laughing at the "divalicious" girl who's apparently only seen one (mediocre) wrestling match ever?

I had to speak up because my whole point of contention (the aforementioned double standard) has been getting on my nerves for a while. As for this girl herself, if I were in Austin's position, I would've reacted the same way. Of ALL the wrestling matches she could bring up, she chose that one why? Because she doesn't know anything, that's why.

It wasnt always that way. Go read the threads about Piggy James in late 09/early 2010. People eventually turned on her here, especially after she got fired.

They are the ying to eachothers yang, the Bret to eachothers HBK, the Melina to eachothers Alicia Fox, etc.

People eventually turned on her here, especially after she got fired. Back in 2009 there were plenty of people--myself included among them--criticizing her for an apparent cold streak she had in the ring (which turned out to be the result of bad opponents rather than anything else) and her getting out of ring shape (had nothing to do with her weight). If you want to see Mickiemania, refer to this board in 2006 and early 2007, such as the scenario I mentioned where there was a blown spot in a match and her opponent for said match was accused on this board of having attempted to kill her in the ring. That's how intense it was in that time period. By 2009? Plenty of people here disliked her, and this was way before her firing in 2010 (which has a variety of potential explanations, so that's another story entirely).

To get this back on track:
Miss 11 years. I don't like her. She's playing the game yeah but she's doing it in a rather bitchy way, throwing Divalicious straight under the Stone Cold bus (Notice how she waited to see who looked the weakest out of her and Erik before deciding which side to target)
Also notice that the "If you want an experience, go climb Everest!" remark she made to her putting her down was almost word for word (But said with more malice) taken from what "Your hair do is really starting to piss me off" guy said as advice.
A conversation she walked in on as he was giving the other advice to get out of it.
Even if she gets her act together, would you really want her to come out on top of all this? I mean, if anyone on the roster was to watch that, why would they want to get close to her knowing she will just throw them under the bus if a promotion is there to be taken, without a second glance.
Also, the sexist bald headed guy is an ass and needs to go. I love the "good ol boy" though, he just seems kinda adorable in a goofy way.

It was a good decision by Austin. That girl was completely clueless.
All three will be cut. No way that other girl has 11 years experience.
Afro reminds me of a lazier version of Darren Young
So far, Luke looks the best.

I don't think so, I think she meant the match from Summerslam 2010.

I just got to the thread as I just saw Tough Enough on Youtube, which I enjoyed. People forget that I think, which sucks, like, those are scary. If I was WWE, I wouldn't have had her wrestle, just drop the belt. Geez. I haven't read most of the thread, but I'm guessing Michelle has gotten a lot of unfair treatment.
