With WrestleMania 28's Main Event being announced a year in advance, I recall that Mr. Kennedy, after winning the Money in The Bank at WrestleMania 23 said that he planned on saving the title shot until WrestleMania 24 and winning the World Title there. Alot of things between WrestleMania 23 and 24 changed that.
Kennedy got injured Undertaker got injured Edge got injured
Undertaker got injured first, so they had to take the title off of him. Batista may have been injured as well so they were not gonna put the title back on him.
Mr. Kennedy suffered an injury around the same time and was told he was to be out of action for 7 or so months. This was a misdiagnosis though and he in fact would only be out a few weeks.
Edge took the briefcase off Kennedy and the title off Undertaker, faced Batista twice and then got injured and had to give up the title.
What I am wondering is had none of those injuries happened, had John Cena's injury not happened, had nothing that derailed plans not happened, what would WrestleMania 24 have looked like?

It would have sucked with Kennedy in a title match.
Edge/Taker was awesome.

I seem to recall reading Kennedy saying he was going to cash in at the next WrestleMania was simply a smoke screen and was actually going to cash-in on Undertaker the way Edge did.

Yeah, but if Taker had not been injured how long would he have saved it? Poor Kennedy, doctor misdiagnosis screwed him out of a World Title run in the WWE

If Kennedy was in the main event of Wrestlemania 24 I would have given my ticket back.

What the hell would have been so bad about Kennedy in a World Title match? I thought he was awesome in WWE!

When he said that, I was expecting him to at some point do the standard surprise cash in early and go against his word when the opportunity arose. I think some newz came out about that being the plan as well, but who knows.

Yeah Kennedy said in a shoot of his that the plan was to cash it on Taker just like Edge did. So he wouldn't have waited til WrestleMania.

But Edge only cashed in on Taker because of Taker's injury so does anyone know when Kennedy was planned to cash in if he wasn't going to wait until Mania?

Basically, Undertaker held the title in mid-2007 and got injured so he would have to give it up. The original plan was for Kennedy to cash in the MitB and win the World Title and begin feuding with Batista, pretty much to put Batista over and probably set up for the world title run that Batista had anyway, but Kennedy would be a much larger player in the WWE.
Unfortunately, Kennedy also got injured at a house show before the whole angle was supposed to go down and it was thought he would miss several months of action, so he lost the MitB briefcase to Edge, who then cashed it in on Taker and won the title the night that Kennedy was originally planned to do so.
Although Kennedy only missed a few weeks of action instead of months, his career never quite picked up the same steam. A shame because the guy had great mic work and what I thought was a very unique, scrappy in-ring style.

Notice how none of that happened with the name "Anderson"

I remember reading in '07 that the original plan was for 'Taker to go wire to wire, and hold the WHC for an ENTIRE year, facing Kennedy at WM24...and losing.
Yes, Kennedy was rumored to be the one who was supposed to end the streak AND 'Taker's year-long title run.
Think about that.
Think about it.
