Looking for honest opinions guys. I have a confession to make. I think of myself as a pretty big wrestling fan, BUT I have never watched a wrestling PPV. Sure, I've seen random matches and clips but I have never sat through a PPV the whole way through, either live or on tape. This is mainly because I've only recently gotten back into pro wrestling. I don't think any of the bars in my area are showing it and my friends live about an hour away, so the chances of getting them to come up and watch it with me are pretty slim.
I would love to watch a Wrestlemania finally, but the 54.95+taxes+plus fees charge has got me torn. What do you guys think? Is it worth it, or should I just look up the results tomorrow morning?

I'm the last person to ever suggest anyone to order a PPV. I haven't ordered a PPV in six years and have never regretted it. Not even once.

I only ever pay for 1 PPV a year, and it's WrestleMania.

I have never regretted ordering a Wrestlemania. I'll do it tonight, there will be threads bashing it as we all know and I'm still going to be glad I ordered it.

The last WWE PPV I ordered was WM 19 (which was a great show), and I also haven't regretted not ordering any since then.

Wrestlemania is the only PPV I order all year. I have never been disappointed or regretted it.

Man, ye guys get charged ridiculous amounts.
Over here it's only €21 ($30), and I'm still splitting it with two of my buddies.

I never have, and never will order a PPV from any wrestling company "just because".
And I won't be ordering Wrestlemania. I could get 2 or 3 DVDs of wrestling shows I'm much more likely to enjoy.
People that order a show 'just because' give the wrestling business reason to look down on the fans.

I definitely order Mania "just because" its Mania. Therefore people should look down on me? I'm a diehard Lions fan but I watched every second of the super bowl this year, does that make me a bad football fan?

By yourself? Maybe, depending on what you like on the card.
With a group of friends splitting the bill? Absolutely. Even if the show sucks, you and your friends can sit back, drink a few beers, have some food and hang out, maybe even go all MST3K on the show. It's always worth it.

Is WrestleMania pricey, absolutely, but I have seen every WrestleMania as it aired since WrestleMania 5. I'm not stopping anytime soon.
There are only two "I definitely will buy this" PPV's per year, and that's WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble.
Granted I usually order more PPV's throughout the year than just those two.

I spend almost no money on wrestling (no live events, no merchandise, no dvds), and its a product gives me a ton of entertainment all year round. So I splurge at mania and don't feel bad about it.

I can not justify $60 on a 1-night viewing, even if it is WrestleMania, especially since the DVD will be out in a few months at a fraction of the cost.

I don't understand people saying they don't buy it because the DVD will be out in a few months. With all the extras it will be nearly 30 bucks. Why not spend the 25 more and get it live with no music edits and the "What's going to happen next?" mentality AND DVR it?

People that order a show 'just because' give the wrestling business reason to look down on the fans. How. How in all that is sensible and reasonable does that make sense?

PPV in general is a con business IMO. Its cheaper to get a ticket if you can go to the show. Granted, it wouldnt be the best of seats, but good seats for Mania went for $100. I cant watch standard broadcast anymore as Im just used to HD, so even there if I was by myself watching it, I couldnt justify that.
I think PPV is best served with a group splitting the cost. In years past, we'd have 5-10 people over and that more than justified it. This year, we're going to a club in NYC to watch it with a bunch of other fans and its free admission and buying drinks isnt mandatory, but there will be many purchased from my group lol.
I havent ordered a PPV alone since 2001. For me no PPV is worth that, especially since theres so many ways of seeing it. If it was truly a one-time only thing, I could see more value.
