Seems like nobody has even mentioned this since RAW. Hell, I even forgot about it with all the buzz surrounding the Taker/HHH and Cena/Rock/Miz promos.
I thought the opening to Raw was absolutely awesome. Punk sitting in the middle of the ring cutting an awesome promo while the Chicago fans were chanting his name was a thing of beauty. I loved how he turned against them subtly (I mean, all he said was I don't care what happens to Nexus, or any of you people) but they totally bought into it and started chanting for Orton.
Loved the way that his fight with Orton was booked too. Orton actually sold the knee and collapsed before he could hit the punt, which allowed Punk to beat him down and hit the GTS. Two weeks in a row where Punk has got the upper hand, and it was desperately needed.
What did you guys think?

Thought it was awesome as well. With everyone talking about Rock,Cena,Undertaker and HHH being on the same show, to open with CM Punk sat in a spotlight was great.
It is difficult when the heel is being obviously cheered, sometimes they don't like to bring it up, but the way Punk dealt with it was great as well. He didn't shy away from it and even worked it into the angle a little.
Even Ortons tiny 2 minute interview backstage later in the show was great, he showed a solid level of intensity and make the angle seem more important than (potentially) the mainia throw away feud/match it is!

Agreed! Opening was fantastic and Orton's second promo was really good as well. Punk realizing that Orton failed in the punt was a cool moment as was his promo in the beginning literally saying that he can get anyone to watch his back or brainwash anyone to do what he wants. It really revealed that level of arrogance in Punk's character.

I liked the fact that Punk just accepted he was getting cheered in his hometown (in fact he egged the crowd on to cheer him). Most heels when they get the hometown pop turn around and mock the place, saying they're 'ashamed' to come from the place to get their heel heat back.

I think it just showed how smart Punk has been as an evil guy.
He basically admitted that the new Nexus were his puppets, his lackeys - which is good because it shows the 'new nexus' were never meant to be a super group.
I loved how Orton played the knee injury when he went for the punt as well. Great stuff.
This will be one of the unsung great storylines of WM season.

It was incredible mic work from Punk, and top notch selling from the best seller in professional wrestling in one Randall Keith Orton.

There was some beautiful subtle psychology in the fact that CM Punk was just about to get punted and escaped without knowing it. If he hadn't attacked Orton the week before things might have turned out differently. Beautiful touch there..

I too thought it was a good segment that got this feud back on track after last week's nonsense. I also liked Orton's promo later on. I really liked that line where said "the question shouldn't be whether he's going to make it to Wrestlemania, it should be if Punk will make it out".

Was it my imagination or did Punk actually look at the Tron to see that Orton was down?
I don't see wrestlers actually acknowledge the tron in that way too often.

I loved his subtle mention of his IED diagnosis- one I'm sure he takes prescription meds for [/punk]
