I saw the PPV and all I gotta say.. if I wanted to see Conan the Barbarian and Al Capone... I would have spend my 15 quid on Blockbuster rather than this crappy PPV... except for the Mickie part of the show.. Yeah, you said that already.

I guess the rumor might be true that RVD will use the MITB title shot at ECW ONS, provided that Cena is still champ then, the ECW fans will eat him alive here in NYC.

Lol, I was writing my review of the matches and top matches of the night, and the thread wasn't there, and I lost it all. Now I must do it all over again.
But yeah, I'm agreeing with EZ. I know people have their own opinions and I can respect that honestly. But if you didn't like that, stop watching. You won't like anything they will ever do. That Wrestlemania blew away everyone's expectations and became one of the best Wrestlemanias ever. Amazing show. Amazing matches. In my opinion, there were 8 MVPs of that show. Edge, Mick Foley, RVD, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjiman, Bobby Lashley, Ric Flair and Finlay.

Oh my God -- what a Wrestlemania. Not the greatest Wrestlemania ever, but I actually got into the Main Event match, praying for Triple H to beat the virus known as Hulk Cena.
Oh and give the Rock/Hogan X-Eight award to Trish/Mickie James tonight! Chi-town turned on the beautiful blonde for the Crazy Chick from my hometown.
My star ratings:
The Giant Orges (Kane/Show) defeat Carltio/Masterpoopys: ** Solid opener, nothing else.
RVD won the Money In The Bank Match: ***-ish. Less of a spotfest, and keep Big Lug Lashley off of ladders. Flair might have killed himself twice (crazy old man); and Shelton is nimble as a cat. RVD is the winner for now after Carlito and Shelton took a nasty bump.
JBL defeats Chris Benoit for the US title: ***3/4 - Yeah, I gave a JBL match over *** - it was entertaining. JBL was limited, but did mock Eddie with the three amigos, but Benoit countered after two. JBL cheated to win, as usual -- but what a match. I didn't think the old cowboy had it in him.
Edge defeated Mick Foley in the Hardcore match: ***-ish. Disapointed with Foley as usual, as he is a legend just like Hogan, but thinks he should put over any loser that Vince throws his way. In spite of that, I praise Edge for taking a thumbtack spot and selling for Foley before the end of the match. That spear into the flaming table by Edge on Foley was brutal.
Boogeyman defeated Booker T/Sharmel: *1/4ish. Booker gets buried quicker than I can type this. Boogie eats worms, kisses Sharmel, she screams -- Booker eats reverse powerbomb. Ugh! The backstage promo with Booker, Moolah, Mae Young, Ted Dibise, Gene Snitsky, Goldust, and Eugene was funnier than the match. Oh and Dibise still has the laugh, and I almost busted a gut when Chi-town popped for Snitsky saying "It wasn't my fault." Too bad Dibise is a Road Agent, because he needs to be Snitsky's manager.
Mickie James defeated Trish Stratus for the WWE Women's Title: ****1/2 and that's only because of the botched ending. Chi-Town turns on babyface Trish and supports Sycho Mickie from the very start in a very Rock/Hogan I moment. Even when Mickie does the lesbo touch to the p***y of Trish and licks her hands Chi-town just screamed in delight. Mickie played up the babyface heat she was getting, and I was laughing as I thought I heard Vince McMahon hitting his head into his desk. Mickie James -- Sycho Babyface? Well it worked for Sid.
Undertaker defeated Mizark Henry: DUD. Taker actually giving a crap saved this dog from going into negative stars. Not that the match really was THAT bad, but the dead crowd just sucked the life out of trying to give this match a good brawl rating. Henry did try here, but the crowd was just dead until Taker pulled out a plancha and finally a tombstone on the big fat man -- and yet he refused to do it to Bundy years earlier . . . wierd . . . well anyways Taker won. Big shock.
Shawn Michaels defeated Vince McMahon: **3/4 to ***. Enjoyable, but I guess Vince at 60 wrestling Shawn isn't the same as Vince at 57 wrestling Hogan. This match was OVERBOOKED. Not to mention the MCMAHON FAMILY PRAYER that had BLOATED STEPHANINE actually getting down on the ground because her dad didn't care she had a kid in her. Not to mention Shane and Steph almost losing it during McMahon's prayer . . . I would have given this baby a higher score than **3/4 - but I could have lived without the Spirt Squad - even when HBK took them all out. I could have lived without them! I means it! The crotch chops from HBK and the 30 foot elbow drop off the ladder saved this one from being a absolute DUD. Vince gives the finger to HBK much like he gave to Hogan in 2003; so expect a masked wrestler named Mr. Heartbreak showing up soon after Michaels gets fired.
Rey-Rey defeated Randal Borton/Kurt Angle for the World Smackdown Title: **** - but that was BECAUSE OF KURT ANGLE. I am sick to my stomach that they gave that midget, Rey Mysterio the World Title even if it was out of love for Eddie's memory. I am going to be civil here, but I don't like Rey Mysterio, and half the crowd turned on him when he won -- they covered it up well with the music.
Torrie Wilson defeated Candice Michele in a Pillow Fight: -***** match ***** t*ts! -- Final tally: DUD. Oh and the wrong chick jobbed. End of story.
Alphonzo Hulk Cena defeated Triple H, the barbarian - ***-ish. The ring intros with Triple H dressed as Conan with throne, and Cena as Al Capone was funnier than the match. Fans give Cena the Ronnie Garvin welcome home treatment as Triple H actually is a babyface in this match. I almost lost my voice for cheering for Triple H and kids -- I hate the man. Trips taps out because he hates all of us and wants us to suffer the wrath of Hulk Cena for another month. Became a solid match later on in the match only because of how I just got into it. Wild.
Overall: Well unlike RD I love the ending of Wrestlemania 9, and this Wrestlemania wasn't the worst one ever -- even if you consider 9 bad. I think they saved the show with a well booked card, sans the pile of Dung that was Taker/Mizark.

I'll agree to an extent, it did blow away some expectations, but still to me anyways it wasn't a Wrestlemania I would pay for. In any event, the MITB match I enjoyed and the 3-way from Smackdown was good, I also liked the sign that said "Randy likes 3-ways with Men" that was funny.

And why was the Fink not doing the ring announcing. If I wanted to listen to a horse I'd watch Mr. Ed, not Lillian Garcia.

Random thoughts from WM22:
From beginning to end, JR kept making excuses about why Cena would get booed out of the building, and kept trying to get him over as at least a tweener. Similarly, he kept trying to sell HHH as the heel of the match every chance he got. Neither of them worked.
Foley getting speared through that flaming table was definitely the "Holy S***" moment of the night. That match was brutal, and I've got a whole new level of respect for Edge because of it.
MITB2 was good as well. Shelton's run up the ladder and over the rope was great, and that hop onto the ladder was even better.
Mickie James dominated the women's title match in just about every way, but the incredibly botched ending took a lot away from it. It's like the Lesnar/Angle match at WM19 -- The match was good, but the first thing people think about when you mention it is the botched ending.
I was really surprised at the not-so-subtle shot Howard Finkel took at Bret Hart for not being a part of WM22.
I wasn't expecing Shawn/Vince to be so one-sided.
Both HHH and Cena's entrances looked incredibly dumb. I mean D-U-M-B. Cena's entrance would have probably come off better had it been done by someone who was over with the crowd, but there was NO saving HHH's entrance. God, that was horrible.
The Boogeyman got virtually no reaction at all. I think we're seeing the beginning of the end of this character. You can only eat so many worms before fans stop caring. If the guy wants to remain over without actually participating in something resembling a wrestling match, he's gonna have to find something new. Fast.
You know a match is bad when the announcers don't even bother trying to pay attention. I almost felt bad for Torrie and Candice, as even the usually-drooling Lawler acted like they weren't even there. From start to finish, both JR and Lawler acted like this match was a complete waste of time. Ironically, it's probably the best match either of these two have ever put on. Not that that's saying much, mind you, but let's face it...........most matches involving either one or both of these two are usually much, much worse.

Wow, I thought the Cena hate was bad, but I didn't think it was that bad. That was the most excited I've ever been watching a wrestling show of my entire life. When i saw that there was only an hour left of the show, i was sad...I wanted more. Never in my life did i think i could sit through 4 hours of wrestling and be entertained by every bit of it (well, besides the Show/Kane vs. Masters/Carlito and Taker/Henry). Money in the Bank rocked (Shelton's jump onto the ladder was f***ing fantastic). JBL vs. Benoit was just kinda okay. Boogeyman's short match was entertaining. Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus was way better than expected (althought Trish f***ed up the finish for Mickie). Mick Foley vs. Edge had one of the best spots of the night (the look on Edge's face after he went threw that table was just wicked). Vince took unprotected chairshots and HBK showed why he is still the man. The Smackdown main event was awesome, except for the missed 619 by Mysterio on the outside ring post).
And the finale...wow! I can't stand Triple H, and Cena as a (superman) face pisses me off to incredible degrees. But JR really set the stage for the double turn, and the crowd really made that match intense. How could you not watch it and not get into all the late 2 kickouts. It was booked fantastically. Triple H tapping out to the STFU was something I never thought I'd see. And i'm glad I did, cause Cena as a heel champion might actually be interesting (they even referred to him as the Doctor of Thuganomics, which they haven't done in a LONG time).
Those guys gave their all tonight. Matches that didn't look very good on paper turned out to be much better than expected. When Chris Benoit has one of the worst matches on the WM card, you know WWE did something right. It had something that several PPV's in general lack, and that's emotion. The crowd was into all night long, as was I, and it really did seem like every wrestler was trying to steal the show. It was definitely the best PPV I've ever seen. I concur with earlier statements made: if you didn't like this show, you're never gonna be satisfied with what the WWE produces. Never.

What does the E gotta do to impress some people. I'll concur with what others have said, if you didn't like this show, you need to stop watching. I loved it. I had quite a few mark out moments. I think HBK and Vince knew they had to go big with everyone expecting Hart to come out. Rey with the title, hey, it could work. He can feud with Angle right away since he didnt pin ANgle. Then, if he keeps it, Benoit.
And I am in utter shock HHH tapped to Cena. My buddy and I's jaws both hit the floor, thought my buddy called it the 2nd time he slapped the STFU on saying it'd be funny if he won with a wrestling hold.

I didn't like the show, but there's no reason why I should stop watching, it's not like I swore to it or anything. I just thought for weeks leading up to Mania that to me it wasn't worth ordering, and from what I saw I was right, but that's my view on things, many people will think differently on it.

my WM Review
(on a scale from * - ****)
Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle (Playboy Pillow Fight)- ok, this was the best Pillow Fight EVER!....just...lets not have it on Wrestlemania...let alone the second to last match Rating - *
Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell- yawwwwn... the segment before the match was great though(I completely marked out when Ted kicked the basketball from Eugent)..o, and the match.. was bad...REAL BAD! rating- *
Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James- I REALLY hate women's matches.. I've been fed this crap for the past 10 months and...This was a very awesome match?? yup, A women's match that was actually well put together and kept me into it throughout the match... Hooray for Mickie and all but.. it was kinda mean what the crowd did to Trish....but HOORAY MICKIE! rating- ***
World Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show vs. Chris Masters & Carlito- Pretty decent.. but damnit.. the tag division isn't going anywhere with Kane and Show.... the match.. was alright, but mostly slow.. rating- *1/2
United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. JBL- I enjoyed this match.... hopefully Benoit losing means a push to the main event.. but probably not... rating- **1/2
Edge vs. Mick Foley (Hardcore Match)- Why isn't Edge champion?? I mean... WHY ISNT EDGE CHAMPION??? WTF!!!... huge props for that HOLY S*** moment in the end.. overall, great hardcore match from Foley and Edge ratin- ***1/2
Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Casket Match)- Zzzz...o, undertaker just jumped over the caske..Zzzzz....undertaker just wo....Zzzzzz.... rating- *
Money in the Bank Ladder Match- everybody in the match(except Lashly) entertained me.. props for RVD winning(even though I thought Flair should've won.. but maybe he got injured..)... o yea, Shelton Benjamin's springboard of the ladder was sick... as well as some of the other stuff... rating-***1/2
Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels (No Holds Barred Match)- I wasn't to much of a fan of the match, but damnit, when HBK was DX choppin' and showin some damn emotion out there, I couldn't help but really enjoy myself... "Now YOU! watch ME! kick your teeth to the back of YOUR THROAT" *Steps away and gets crazy pumped up...aaaaand...BOOM!* rating-**1/2
World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio- I liked the match, and thought it was a very good match..just Randy Ortan wasn't needed... and I don't like Mysterio winning, I'm happy for him and all...but honestly, how long do you think he will hold on to the belt..
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Triple H- You know, I think I could write about this for the rest of the night... but the "Special" Entrances....wow...just....wow.... honestly, did Vince think that all of that would've been GENIUS!!!.. apperantly he did....
as for the match, the crowd was really into it....but for the wrong reason.... Vince, if you can't get a crowd into your champion and top face one way, that guy shouldn't have the belt... I'm not saying HHH should be the guy to take it away... I'm saying, dont let Cena keep a hold of it... hopefully, Edge will get his shot, and have the title run he deserves...
rating- **
overall, WM 22 was one of the best WM's in recent years.. just.. the ending, was WAY WAY WAY WAY!! too wacky..

wasn't even that good.. Tonight, is the day I lost all my respect for Bret... what a fricking b*stard!! but also, from today I mark for Mickie... she's so gorgeous! Aw, did Bret hurt your feelings by actually sticking to his principles and not showing up to make Vince McMahon money on his biggest show of the year? Get over it.

OK, not to sound like a donkey, but if you didn't think it was gonna be worth ordering, why did you. Just curious. I didn't order, that's the thing. I was able to watch it on a webcast and the rest was on my hot box. One thing I'm gonna be stressing for awhile now.
The Mickie James/Trish Stratus match was easily one of the best matches of the night, and easily the best women's match I've ever seen. I really hope alot of people get to see it one way or another.

Kane vs Show- waste of time. Carlito and Masters didn't win- and Carlito didn't even get to do any cool insane moves. Even though I like Kane, actually BECAUSE I like Kane they need to get him away from that fat sack of crap Big Show.
MITB- Good match, but not as good as I was expecting. I was so sure Flair was going to win to take on new champ HHH, but obviously later events would show how misguided that belief was. But I was pleasantly surprised by RVD winning. And some great spots- Shelton running off the ladder, van daminator to lashley on the ladder, flair being superplexed off the ladder, all great. But felt a bit rushed, and it suffered by having Lashley and Finlay in it. Finlay is good, but not really the kind of guy who's suited to a ladder match.
JBL vs Benoit- good match, no complaints here.
Edge vs Foley- match of the night. Even though it was obvious Edge was going to win I was still on the edge of my seat, and I loved all the hardcore action. Edge proved he should still be champion just now, no disrespect to HHH. Insane stuff, and the finish was amazing. Edge needs to win the title back, and soon.
Boogeyman vs Booker T- crap. The segment before it was a million times better than the actual match. Boogeyman is pretty funny, but he can't wrestle to save his life, and his schtick is starting to get old.
Mickie vs Trish- great match until the botched ending. And Mickie won! Yessss. I loved the crowd in this one.
Taker vs Henry- takers dive over the rope was great. And I can't remember anything else that happened in it apart from teh tombstone and taker winning.
HBK vs Vince - good fun- HBK just dominated which was highly entertaining.
Rey Mysterio vs Orton vs Angle - very good match. The double german suplex was amazing. Angle making both guys tap out is great. They managed to have rey win and have kurt still look almost unstoppable, so I approve. The thing that stopped it from being match of the night was that it's far too short. I hear that Rey is having knee problems, so maybe that's why.
Torrie vs Candace- crap.
HHH vs Cena- very good match apart from the shit ending of crappy Cena winning. The crowd was white hot with Cena hate and that gives it an extra goodness. Best crowd atmosphere for ages.
So overall I give wrestlemania 22 7 out of 10 for a very good wresltemania, but not one of the best. It was better than last years effort, but not as good as 17 18 19 and 20.
And I still can't believe Cena won. That really pisses me off.

Was it me, or did the crowd go stone silent watching Cena hold the belt up? Because if it's not me, Vince just made a beeeeeeeeg mistake. And the match was one of the worst of the night. I mean, at some point it stops being a stare-down and starts being "PUNCH SOMEONE ALREADY!"
Other than that, though, the night kicked all ass. Money In The Bank, Shawn/Vince (one-sided, yes, but if it's going to be one-sided, that is how you do one-sided), Mickey/Trish, the Triple Threat, and I had my hands over my face for most of the second half of Edge/Foley. Pretty much the only downers were the pillow fight and Taker/Henry, which was the second-slowest match of the night (HHH/Cena being the slowest. PUNCH SOMEONE!)
Also, why would you announce the Spanish announcers and then not put someone through their table? Just curious.

Best Match- MITB2 Worst Match- Playboy Pillow Fight(didnt even watch it)
Best moment during a match- Edge spearing Foley through a flaming table Best moment not during a match- DiBiase making Eugene lose the dribbling challenge
Surprise of the night- TIE- Womens match being good and CM Punk as a mobster(and why not? after all, he's from chicago) What we can expect- RVD using the MITB shot at One Night Stand.
