Good thing they didn't book U-Gene Then Vince might have gotten them on copyright infringement. Seriously, though, I live in Halifax; the local scene is rife with idiots who bought a ring and figure they're promoters. There is a group of legit wrestlers around these parts who've worked this region and others, but they are few and very experienced. Robert Roode worked this area back in the day.

They still broadcast PPVs in movie theaters? I've always wanted to watch one that way just for the audience reactions.

Heck, I remember going to the Forum to watch PPVs on closed-circuit, back in the late 80s. The Forum held live WWF events as well; I think it cost something like $7 for upper bowl, $9 for lower and $11 for ringside. The Halifax Forum is an awesome old venue for wrestling, a large red-brick building with neo-Victorian details. The hallways and concession areas around the main arena space have vaulted ceilings which give the place a cavernous feel. The upper bowl seats were bleachers with seat numbers labeled on them. Back when you could smoke in the building, there'd be this ominous cloud floating over the ring. WWE, when they come to Halifax now (not nearly as often as they did during the two-tour days), they come to the Metro Centre which, though newer and more mucky-muck, will never have the same feel.
