A spinoff of the Austin thread, where I mentioned that I was surprised when I found out Steve Austin wasn't his real name.
Here are some others:
Randy Savage Shawn Michaels I thought Hulk Hogan's real last name was Hogan I thought the Rock's real name was Rocky Maivia.

Back when I first got into wrestling I was really interested in the real names, ages, etc.
Nowadays I really don't care and I was surprised when I found out 'Curt Hawkins' and 'Zack Ryder' were fakes names lol.

Up until pretty recently I thought William Regal's real name was Steven Regal.

The "normal"-sounding names... Shawn Michaels, Dustin Rhodes, Steve Austin.

As a kid I thought all the wrestlers names were their real names. I also fully believed that The Dudley's were related in real life. Likewise Kane & 'Taker. I was a proper mark as a kid

I remember getting into a debate with my youngest uncle about the "real" names of wrestlers. I discovered wrestling sites that had listings of the birth names of wrestlers. My uncle swore that the names used on-screen were real, because he kept on coming at me with the "Terry Hogan" argument and such. He even asked me if I knew the real names of Undertaker and Kane, I respectively said Mark Callaway and Glen Jacobs and he was all, and I quote, "How are they brothers?". When I discovered that, I kind of realized that maybe they were kayfabe brothers, especially since I read how Glen Jacobs portrayed Fake Diesel and Isaac Yankem.

Justin Gabriel. His name actually being "Paul" just struck me as odd, for whatever reason.

The Major Brothers. When I found out, I was like, "What? You mean they weren't really brothers who grew up watching ECW?"

I thought the Rock's real name was Rocky Maivia. His real name was Rocky Melvin. At least that's what "Pro Wrestling for Dummies" told me.

When Mickie James first appeared in WWE I thought that was a stage name and "Alexis Laree" was her real name.

I didn't know until NXT that Michael Cole is a fake name.
Also, Billy Kidman, it just doesn't sound like a name anyone would make up ever.
