I want Sin Cara to succeed, but frankly... the other day I was watching some of Rey Mysterio's first matches in WCW, and, well, Sin Cara may be just as athletic, but as far as his in-ring storytelling goes, he's no Rey Mysterio, not by a very long shot.
And yeah, the crowd reactions were the most damning part of the Cara/Bourne match. These cruiserweight openers are supposed to get the crowd pumped up and excited, and this one... got decent pops for the big flippy moves, but not much more than that.
And while it was only a couple of guys, that "USA" chant made me feel a bit sick.

I liked the match really it might have actually been better than what I expected. I knew it wasn't going to main event and get a lot of time I was expecting that.
Some people may have said that it had the chance to be a real botch fest but it wasn't at all. It was a really crisp match. Id say this and his match with Bryan are Cara's best matches in WWE so far.
Plus I'm sure the match will help to further both men in WWE in the future.

I felt it was really sloppy, hardly any psychology outside of just trading a lil bit of flashy offense without any logic. . Just like every Sin Cara match. Sin Cara and wrestling psychology doesnt go well together.

Solid first match between two guys who are capable of doing more in future. Sin improves weekly. This is a guy who has been praised heavily for years and is growing into the style. Not every move is going to be perfect but he is doing stuff that no one else is doing. I often do other stuff while a Raw and Smackdown are on but I would put my book, phone, iPad down when Daniel Bryan or CM punk would wrestle because those are guys I love to watch. Sin Cara has recently become a guy that makes me focus on the show when he's on.

Gotta love wrestling fans; they'll show unabashed xenophobia at the slightest provocation, and chant "USA!" at two guys who aren't even from the States. Conversely, they'll also chant "USA!" when BOTH guys are from the states, as they did in every Hassan match. *sigh* Anyway...yeah, I probably would have liked this match a lot better if I hadn't been watching Pillman/Liger and Mysterio/Malenko earlier. These two REALLY seemed unsure of themselves. But I do think they'll get better over time. Give them a ladder match or an Elimination Chamber match to let it all hang out in. Hell, even let Sin Cara take some "Spider-Man" like mask damage.

I feel bad for Sin Cara really. He was thrown in at the deep end without any time to adjust and combined with the Chavo debacle which wasnt really his fault, hes suffered through some poor moments, not to mention that mood lighting is killing him IMO. Hes wrestling in the dark.
Its like a baseball player being signed by a cricket team and going in straight away, stinking up the joint. In retrospect, FCW was a must.

First, the ending was, once again, semi-botched. His track record on live TV isn't very good at all, and I don't think tonight's mediocre performance, lackluster crowd reaction, and semi-botched ending did him any favors. People blamed Chavo and Primo. Haven't heard people blame Bourne yet. But the common denominator in all these botches is Sin Cara, and some people have to stop making excuses for the guy. He's got to take some of the blame on himself. If the botches don't stop and the crowd reaction doesn't improve notably, I have a funny feeling he's not going to make it much further up the card than he is now, and I could see him being released once his contract is up.
It's just like any other business -- some "hot prospects" sometimes just don't work out, for whatever reason. IMO, this is one of those times.
That said, my son loves him. Quickly became one of his favorite wrestlers.

I just think that people expect way too much from Sin Cara in a WWE ring. He's not wrestling his style of match, so it's understandable that there would be kinks to work out. He's been wrestling in the WWE for a cup of coffee. He's a great wrestler with phenomenal talent. They just have to figure out how to let it shine in a WWE ring.
Rey worked right away in WCW because there were a ton of other people that could work his style effectively. WWE has almost nobody that can work with Sin Cara effectively. Just because somebody is a high-flyer doesn't mean that they can work the Lucha style. Daniel Bryan is one of the best in the world and even he had problems with that style. What Sin Cara worked before and what he works now is night & day. He got no training before they threw him out there. It's going to take longer than 3 months to adjust.
It doesn't help that American wrestling fans, in this instant gratification society, can be a little jaded & unforgiving. He has to impress right away or he's a bum.

Are people mad that the match wasn't a huge botchfest that could gloat about? Sin Cara understandably is nervous about his WWE expectations. Problem is that some people are over analyzing his every action.

Pick up the pace half a step and that was a damn solid match. I'm not sold on La Mistica being used as an impact move though.
I'd have him steal Ultimo Dragon's backflip DDT thing, or maybe Essa Rios's front flip DDT.
Michinoku Driver is always solid
THIS is awesome, but would work only on a few guys

It was ok, but Sin Cara either needs to start using the Armbar to finish his Hurricanrana or use something else. I mean, he hits all these flashy armdrags & dives, but they're able to keep going but a Hurricanrana, almost akin to the one Kelly Kelly does and they're down?

^ Me too actually. La Mistica looked pretty rough on Evan, but it was a good match.

I liked the match. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was a short, solid performance. I'd like to see them go on longer in the future.

No other Head Scissors ends in a faceplant like La Mistica, which he should start calling the Spanish equivalent of "The Face Eraser."

He needs somehow to push them down, spin into a Fameasser or something.

Not the best match. Psychology wasn't there at all, and for a short showcase match between these two, it was too slow and worse, sloppy. I will say, though, the way Bourne took the headscissors in the finish was unique, and I actually thought it looked pretty cool.
The spot on the ramp blew my mind with it's stupidity, by the way.
