I think certain places like Hooters etc carry PPVs... Do any of you guys go to these places for PPVS? How are they there.. Can you actually hear the commentary or is the place so loud you can't concentrate on the event?

Makes me miss the days of the Monday Night Wars. We'd be in a corner of the establishment with two TVs: one on Nitro the other on Raw. If we saw something interesting (nWo interview, Jim Cornette promo, etc.) that would get the sound turned up.
We didn't need play-by-play if we were watching it.

Hmm, now that I do see some close-by...
Eh, I'd need to take a Monday off of work.

Just called one near me, they still do them, no cover charge.. Pretty cool. I never wanted to do it before since I always taped the shows, but I haven't had cable since September and my friend doesn't have a recordable DVD player set up to his cable box and it's getting to expensive for either of us to get the PPVs, so we might check it out as an alternative for this months PPV.

There's one 15 minutes from me so I go when I have Sunday off work. You can hear the commentary fairly well, you're not gonna decipher some of what Booker T says but Cole is pretty easy to make out. Of course that's different everywhere they might have the sound up super loud where you're going. I highly recommend it, its free and bars have big nice tvs.
Oh yeah, and its definitely worth it to see all the huge marks come out, with title belts and Cena t-shirts, the whole bit. Its hilariously awesome, especially for someone that posts on this forum.

I went to a bar for WrestleMania this year, couldn't hear the commentary great but the atmosphere was amazing.
Being from the UK, it's not a common thing I guess, seen as we were there until 4am on a Monday morning but it was a hell of an experience.
Though looking back, 100 or so people chanting 'ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY!' at about 20 TVs is a bit strange.

I usually watch the WWE pay per views at Buffalo Wild Wings. During football season, they usually only have half the televisions on wrestling and the volume on football jacked up. It's crazy to pay $55 for WWE pay per views when you can watch it there basically for free (minus the cost of food and drinks).

I've been going to Hooters since 2006. Its always a great time even if the show is bad. Even during football season they show the PPV on the majority of the TVs with the sound up. The crowd is usually 80% wrestling fans, but sometimes there is a table or 2 of assholes who sometimes make fun of the show, like mocking people cheering or saying things like "Wow, bet that hurt".
As I said, I've gone every month since 2006 besides WrestleMania, which I order at home. For the smaller PPVs, you don't have to show up early to grab a seat but for the bigger events like the Rumble or Summerslam, if you don't show up early you'll be waiting for a table for the first hour of the PPV.

For my CONUS located brothers and sisters, I know that if the post has a bar or regimental club the cover was 5 bucks and the TV's were usually cranked!
And overseas just click on AFN if you have a reciever or live on post, they are usually shown on Monday evenings.

I've only been there the one time but keep meaning to go back, its an underground gaming bar. Not very big but lots of TVs and PS3/Xbox's set up and a room for PC gaming. With a bar at the end. Not everyone's cup of tea I imagine but it's the bar of the future.

The Hooters in Mishawaka, IN is still listed on there, even though I believe they've stopped showing the ppvs in 2007. We used to go there all the time, it was a lot of fun to hang out with all kinds of wrestling fans.
