Tinhat on but, given what the cult of personality entails, I think it fits Cena more than Punk in this context.
Cena is hero-worshipped because the WWE Universe has been trained to, where as Punk has got over himself...

I've never heard this song until tonight and I've already listened to it 5 straight times on youtube. I loved his Killswitch Engaged song but Cult of Personality is the perfect song for CM Punk. I'd suggest looking up the Guitar Hero version while you're at it. Re-recorded for the game, by the same band; different enough that you might like one over the other. Wow, I've played and heard that version multiple times, but never noticed how different it is. It would be better, but I assume Activision owns the rights or something.

This was one of my favorite songs when it came out (has it really been 23 years? Seriously?) and I love it for Punk's cheracter. Said it in the RAW thread, but when it hit, I may have given my cat a heart attack by yelling.

Great song.
Although I am a huge Bouncing Souls fan, and I know Punk used one of their songs as a theme back in the day. If they used it in WWE it would have nigh on killed me.

It worked better than using this fire burns because the crowd had no idea who the hell it was.
As soon as I heard the opening riff, I slammed the table and shouted, I was that excited. Punk is at the top, no doubt about it x

For a song that literally came out the same month I was born, it still sounds surprisingly modern and fresh in 2011. I can't say the same for many other songs from the same time period.

I don't know a lot about AFI, but that dude sounds like someone is squeezing his balls for that whole song.

I'm surprised how many people here didn't realise that it's not a new theme song for Punk at all!

I saw either "that's his new song", or "that's his ROH song" - one totally inaccurate, the other partially accurate. He probably only used it in ROH for about five or six shows, then in his last match, he used "Night Train" by the Bouncing Souls.
I love the AFI song, but it can only work in a small building where the fans can really get into it.

The bad thing is, I'm predicting that when recaps of this are shown, either on Smackdown or in the future, it'll be "This Fire Burns" that's playing. Just like Bischoff using "Back in Black" when he first came to WWE.

I will miss This Fire Burns without a doubt, but I do love Cult of Personality!

Fantastic theme, fantastic RAW moment. Not sure where the angle's going but it's giving me so much enjoyment that I don't really care.

The only way it could have been better was if that everybody attacked and there was a brawl and then Triple H came out and announced "I INVITED HIM!"

I'm surprised how many people here didn't realise that it's not a new theme song for Punk at all! It actually kind of bothers me. Not in any elitist way; it's nobody's fault if they never watched ROH or are younger than me and didn't hear the song on the radio back in the day. It bothers me because this, to me, seems like a nod to the smarky smarks like myself, yet less and less people seem to be getting it, even on the internet message board where we talk about smarky smark things!

How I used Miseria Cantare was I edited it down to right before the, "Nothing from nowhere," part kicks in. But then, I had a delay for his entrance and had him using the full version of Cult of Personality. The, "During the few moments we have left," part is a great opener.

I was spoiled before I could watch RAW on YouTube. I read "Punk debuts new theme" so I was like "Okay, this better be a good theme, then." But then I read that he used "Cult of Personality" and that changed everything. I was in disbelief. I was like "NO WAY. NO WAYYYYYY."
It's amazing they let him use it.

I just listened to Miseria Cantare, and it just doesn't fit Punk. I get kind of a Goldberg feel from it.
Cult of Personality is perfect.
