Look, the guy gets bashed a lot, some of it deserved, some of it not. But with news of his recent two month suspension, it occurs to me that he has a huge problem preventing him from ever getting to the top and staying there. It isn't his mic skills or is ring skills, though.
It's himself.
He lacks the self control to effectively get a foothold in the company. He was just now building serious momentum and then *BOOM* suspension. Two months with no screen time. We can only speculate as to what he did, but two months off is a long time in a company like the WWE.
So ya know, when I see all these people proclaiming him the future, I have to say- Not if he can't learn not to be a junior sociopath.

But he needs pull his head out of his ass.

Nice little rant there. I agree. Plus he's just kind of a douche.

I am a big fan of Orton and was reallying hoping he'd breakthrough to the next level, but I sadly have to concure with your assumption that won't happen it he doesn't learn some respect and realize the awesome opportunies that he has had and that he could have if learn to be more of a professional.

I disagree. He may have his head up his fifth point of contact now but he is still real young. That combined with his talent both on the mic and in the ring, he's still the heel of the future.

Youth has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of young guys on the indy scene and the roster that respect the hell out of the business and other wrestlers. And again, it is arrogant to assume you know the future.

I believed he was the future, but with the two month suspension, I don't know.
Usually I'm defending Randy Orton against attacks, but now, it's hard to defend him. I mean, people were cheering and being all happy, and I wanted to say that it's pretty cold to be happy for something like that, but honestly, Orton deserves it. He got himself suspended for 60 days. He was in the running to be a top guy in the company, and he blew it. The company was getting behind him, the fans were hating him (a positive thing for a heel), he was in the top program, then he gets himself suspended.
If he doesn't straighten up and fly right, he won't be the future.

I just think he has alot of time to get his offal together and mature into someone who can really be a top tier guy.

Provided he's given that time to flourish, any more things like this suspension and he may never reach his full potential.

Maybe Orton is the next Scott Hall, his activities outside of wrestling prevent him from ever reaching his full potential.

Don't flame me, because I don't think what I have to say will be popular:
Re: Youth, Randy just turned 26, as in late 20's, as in old enough. He's had the good fortune to work in the same job for some time now, something many twentysomethings don't enjoy.
Re: the suspension, I don't want to kick the man when he's down, but sitting at home for 3 months on purpose to get a dishonorable discharge from the Marines and a tour of duty at Leavenworth military prison might be a sign the guy just doesn't anticipate consequences very well. He's paid his "debt to society" for the AWOL and I'm not harping on that, but I seriously suspect Orton just doesn't know how to anticipate consequences for his actions.

It's your opinion and I happen to find most of it close to my opinion of Orton.

But let's not discuss that here.

Orton is the future of this business, just like Cena is. Suspensions are just suspensions, Orton will learn his lesson, he's never actually been suspended before so maybe actually suspending him will get him to think about whatever he did (which might not even be serious, it could be something stupid). Remember, they're constantly throwing him in the line for the title and he's the youngest champ in WWE, so they've set him up for the future. With respect to his career, he's got a long way to go for this to ruin his "potential."

I'm a military vet and I've irritated people before talking about Orton's AWOL, just thought I'd belabor that I wasn't attacking Orton for that but honestly thought it was interesting how he has sometimes seemed to underestimate consequences.

i figured there would be some other wrestlers in the back that wouldve humbled orton-and not in the Iron Sheik sense, most wrestlers haze the new guys anyway and theyd particularly come down on a wise ass like orton's reported to be i would think
