I know the lines are blurred and there's no way Cena will turn heel but one thing i've found interesting is that no matter where they have been since 'that' promo, the crowd has been very much pro-Punk and more often than not anti-Cena.
If this is still a 'Cena will save the WWE title from that outsider' kind of thing then having the crowd wanting him to lose is really weird and kinda funny.

Punk's the heel. And I imagine he'll go back to cutting rambling cult promos and cheating every ten seconds in short order.

I'll give kudos to Cena's reaction to Punk getting the bigger pop when they raised the belts. The defeated expression on his face sold it perfectly.

I wouldn't say tonight's crowd was especially Pro-Punk or Anti-Cena.

They've pretty clearly turned Punk face over the last couple weeks. Cena's still a face too, of course.
The "villain" in the angle thus far has been Vince McMahon. We don't know yet if Triple H will move in to fill that role, or if it'll just proceed as a face/face feud.

Totally undefined. Cena's win was heelish in motive. Punk's return was heelish in motive, and reeks of shenangians.

Punk's the heel. And I imagine he'll go back to cutting rambling cult promos and cheating every ten seconds in short order. He was acting like a definite face during MITB, his new theme is very face-ish, and he recently did an appearance at an Indy show praising a wrestler who survived cerebral palsy. I don't think they're planning on presenting him as a clear cut face, but this iteration of Punk is vastly different than the one from two months ago.

Punk stopped being heel after the Vince promo.

I wouldn't say tonight's crowd was especially Pro-Punk or Anti-Cena. Cena got booed when he turned up to congratulate Rey and Punk got a bigger cheer when he held his belt up. You could argue that it was the usual 50/50 Cena crowd but that had really died down since Nexus (other than some of the Rock stuff/Mania) and crowds were mostly behind him again before this angle.

no, this feud is in that good part of the neutral zone. It's like Austin/Rock in 2001.

They are both Face at the moment, with Cena being in the more vulnerable position because he seems to realize that his title is a sham.
It would make sense for CM Punk to win the inevitable unification match to invalidate the silly tournament and Cena's cheap win...of course, Cena will probably win.
I think there is a possibility that Cena will win with Rock's interference because Rock wants to face Cena for the title at Wrestlemania. Of course Punk winning again would be great too, but I just don't see it. The WWE hardly ever lets somebody as big as Cena lose twice in a row.
So they are both Face, but it's easier to root for CM Punk.

A double-turn at SummerSlam would be refreshing. (I don't need to hear about merchandise sales, thankyou.)

cena's the heel in both feuds he's in this year He hasn't really crossed over in this one... yet. If anything he's been more faceish than usual. Except tonight, celebrating that win, where he angled himself into a title match with someone who already worked, was pretty lame.

Cena = Bret Hart Punk = Austin Only this time Bret doesn't turn heel. this Punks mannerisms and stuff toward the crowd makes me think he is full fledge face now. Please forget about the whole nexus stuff

Looking at the WWE.com vid of Punk addressing the crowd, he's pure face.

There is nothing facish about cult of personality... NOTHING. The lyrics may be sort of dark when you listen to them, but the energy of the singing and guitar riffs are pure face.
