I've been bored with Mark Henry for 10 years now. I've been a fan of Mark Henry for 10 years now.

I honestly believe they should have given Henry a World Title reign back in 2009 after his face turn. The guy was a legit friendly giant back then.
His current run isn't half-bad though.

Honestly if Henry, Show, Kane, Khali, and Zeke all were gone from the company tomorrow, I not only wouldn't miss them, but I would be more interested in the product because time wouldn't be spent on them.
If I had to keep one, it'd be Kane. He's not as bad as the others, but he's just gotten extremely stale.
I'm just really tired of monsters in general. "Big men" like Sheamus or Morgan or Joe or Elgin are fine. But if I never have to see another sluggish giant who's most impressive talent is being big, I'd be fine with that.

I still feel that monsters still have a place in wrestling. And Mark Henry is the best monster in wrestling today.

I love Henry and hopes he wins the title. That said, there's no way he's better in the ring or on the mic than Kane. He's a helluva lot less stale, though.

Can't say I've ever really been a fan of Henry in the past but damn this last month or so has changed my opinion of him, he has been enjoyable every time I've seen him on TV lately.

How did Henry's big push in 2006 compare to this? I wasn't watching at the time. I really wasn't a fan of his 2006 run back then. My reaction was "Sexual Chocolate's attacking Batista?" Yeah, I wasn't ready for Mark Henry as the World Champion. Neither was WWE, as Kurt Angle won the title after Henry injured Batista. Then, just as Henry was continuing his dominance, he got injured. Looking back on it now, it took a while for Henry to establish himself as a monster. I think his ECW run with Tony Atlas made people take a look at Mark Henry and what a dominant monster he could be. And it was realized in 2011, with the run he's currently having now.

Henry is easily one of the best booked and most entertaining parts of WWE right now.
It took a while for me to like Mark and respect him, I don't think I really 'got' him until his ECW Title run. Back in 2006 the thought of Mark Henry as Champion made my skin crawl.
But now I'm cool with it. I wouldn't be against him having a short reign.

I was high on Henry after his face turn awhile back and I thought "Man, he's over, push him now!"... I've always kinda been a fan of Henry and have been looking for him to be this motivated for years.

I have to be honest at the get go and say I'm a huge Big Show fan, so take that into account when you read this. I am SOOOOOOOO bored of the Mark Henry push. He isn't a good wrestler, his mic skills are crap, and the only thing he has going for him is his size. Compare him to his peers. Big Show, Kane etc. They at least have some charisma, and are better on the mic, and carry off their role of the "brutal big man" far, far better, whether they be face or heel. Henry is just...well...meh. The guy has been around for years and in all of his feuds or incarnations he has been consistently BORING. He hasn't got a tenth of the charisma of other guys more deserving of a push, but hey ho, he's waylaying everybody. Is he a good company man, like SuperJohn? I don't know. All I do know is, purely on a selfish level, he's being put over at the expense of two of my favourite wrestlers, and I wouldn't mind if he was a fresh new talent who was deserving of a push, but he isn't, he's possibly even more clapped out that Show (much as it pains me to say it), and isn't anywhere near the draw Kane is, so I just find him...boring. well your judgment is flawed. first off, wwe proved you dont need to have mic skills, be able to wrestle or be in shape to hold a title. so the argument doesnt hold up right now because sheamus and khali have both been world champ. You put Sheamus and Khali in the same category?!

I knew I'd get burned for this thread ;-) Well...*puts up flame shield in case* I agree 100%. Seriously how is this push different from 2006 with Angle or Batista. I believe the brass will get bored and shove him back down in to comic big guy or stepping stone heel. Seriously does any fan actually think he is going to get a belt? Any belt? I am not saying he is awful but this is the annual, Great Khali, Mark Henry push that comes around every couple of summers... In my opinion, he is not THAT bad a wrestler, but not a great one either. Hope that makes sense...*Gets flamethrowed*

How is Mark Henry not a good wrestler?
He is a monster who is the strongest man the company has and maybe has ever had. He is enormous and still quite athletic to go with it.
What style do you want him to do and in what way can he possibly improve to be better in your eyes?

He is great at selling, building some tension for a match and so forth, but he is no better than Snitsky and yet continues to get his annual push. I don't understand it.

It was more a general rant at the internet than aimed at anyone in particular but the point still applies.
I am not sure what people like Henry and Khali, etc. are meant to do. They are constantly knocked but they physically can't fly about and trade fast chain wrestling and technical holds.
It's like people want a size limit entered into wrestling, no muscles or big guys allowed, only people the same size as the audience so they don't feel inadequate.

Of course this is all opinionated but it's really not the case with MY personal preference. I mean Kane, Big Show, 3 Minute Warning/Umaga/Rosie, Rikishi, have all had great fueds and matches. I literally can not name a classic Mark Henry match, and that is not because he is a big wrestler.

There's a world of difference between Henry and Khali to me. I mean Henry isn't Speedy Gonzales, but Khali looks like he has turtle nervosa in comparison. The man can barely walk.

He also has medical issues that mean he really shouldn't have ever been a wrestler to begin with nevermind today. Big Show got his operation that stopped him developing that way and he remains athletic. Khali never got that and he really seems to be nearly the stage Andre was when he died. Khali just happens to have managed to keep the weight off.

I'd like to see Henry throw either Orton or Christian (whoever has it at the end of this silly feud) through the side of a cage to win the WHC, just as payback for their boring program over the last 2 months.
