I suppose in the era where steroids are not really allowed, the classic midcard hoss, invariably musclebound and very tall and often lacking in-ring talent, is pretty much no more.
ITT: We remember our favourite hosses.
Luther Reigns: had peas befo'. Snitsky: was undefeated except all those times he lost. Heidenreich: raped Cole on Smackdown then turned into a nice guy who read pomes to children.

Another thing which hosses did was beat local jobbers/Val Venis/Bob Holly in squash matches on Raw to prove their 'dominance' of the sport. Squash matches seem particular to steroids because they don't happen any more either.

HELL NO! Hosses are such a relic of wrestling. Give me a vanilla midget who can work anyday.

I like when Jim Ross would call Test a Hoss. You knew it was because he thought he was terrible. lol
Though Test was probably me favourite Hoss.

Don't worry, we've still got Zeke, Mason Ryan, and Skip Sheffield.

I don't know if I'd qualify him, but I really really liked Mike Knox and wish he could have been used better, specifically in the last part of his run.
I always resign him on my TEW-WWE games.

They're more effective when there are less of them. It really makes them stand out.
